Good Friday/Easter

Services

St. John Church of Tidioute will hold Good Friday Services on Friday, April 19, at 3 p.m.

Holy Saturday Vigil will be at 9 p.m. Saturday. This will be the only Mass for Saturday.

Easter Sunday services will be held at 11 a.m.

All are welcome.

Pancake Supper

St. John Guild members will be hosting their last Pancake Supper of the Season at St. John Center on Tuesday, April 23, from 4 to 7 p.m.

Eat in or take out. Adult dinners are $7 each and children under the age of 5 for $4 each.

The menu consists of regular pancakes, Buckwheat, country sausage patties, scrambled eggs, and beverages.

All proceeds go toward the purchase of a new church organ.

Soup Cook-Off

The 15th Annual Soup Cook-Off, sponsored by Tippy Canoe, was a success.

There were 27 entries. Desserts were donated by Pam McLaughlin, Linda McDonald, Annie Frank, Monica Daquilante, and Larry Gwin. Allan Hall made homemade bread.

Tionesta Beverage donated some t-shirts. All participants received special t-shirts from Frank and Roxanne Pagley.

Monetary donations were collected and donated to the Tidioute Unit of the Salvation Army.

Judges were Dan McLaughlin, John McChesney, Allan Hall, and Billy Lendhart.

Winners were: First-place — Becky Osborne; second — Bob Fath; and honorable mention — Wendy Flynn.

Bus Trip to

Washington DC

A bus trip is being planned for October 7, 8, and 9 to Washington DC.

The bus leaves St. John Church parking lot at 5:30 a.m. on Oct. 7, stop for breakfast (cost on your own) on the way, arriving at Union Station by 12:15 p.m. for lunch (cost on your own). then off to Ford Theater for a tour, then on to WWII Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam Memorial and Reflection Pool, dinner at Buca-Di Beppo Italian Restaurant (included).

On Tuesday, Oct. 8: breakfast buffet at hotel, leave at 8:30 a.m. for Arlington Cemetery, (shuttle will take us to top of hill-cost included) for the changing of the Guard, then Kennedy Graves, lunch on your own, Holocaust Museum-included, 6 p.m. is dinner at Toby’s Dinner Theater (included), Show “Body Guard” (included) and back to hotel approximately 11 p.m.

On Wednesday, Oct. 9: breakfast buffet at the hotel with the checkout at 9 a.m. arrive at Kennedy Center (Hall of Flags Walk Through), Bible Museum and Biblical Gardens (included), Bus Tour with a drive past Capitol Building and White House. leaving DC at 5:30 p.m. stop for dinner (cost on your own) arriving back in Tidioute approximately 9:30 p.m.

If time permits we will tour the National Cathedral – not definite at this time.

Cost for a single room is $598; the double room is $468 per person; the triple room is $425 per person; Quad is $399 per person.

The deposit of $100 per person; due by May 15.

Students are welcome to go with an adult supervisor-contact your school for the proper forms for an educational trip.
