Photos submitted to Times Observer The TCCS Drama Club performed their annual play on May 11th and May 12th of 2018. This years production was ‘The Wizard of Oz: The Deleted Scene’ written by Eddie McPherson. It was directed by Tammy Shirey and Beth Bonner with the help of student director Angel Flanigan. This years cast consisted of Paige Zofcin as Dororthy Gale, Kelsey Nuttall as the Crow, Angelina Sabella as Glinda the Good Witch, Angel Flanigan as West (Wicked Witch of the West), William Brenton as the Farmer, Hailey Hammerschmitt as the Wife, Alicia Sabella as Snicker Bird, Olivia Egger as Raven and the Camera Person, Mark Zofcin as the Tinsmith, Zoey Birchard as the Apprentice, Brenen Connelly as Army Bird One, Arreanna Anderson as Army Bird Two and the Husband, Treyah Selfridge as Glindalina, Hailie Cass as Gretel, Annah Burke as Hansel, Kaylin Franks as the Reporter, Hannah Cox as Munchkin One, Jolynn Durlin as Munchkin Two, Natalie Valentine as Toto, Kaylee Bailor as Jack, Lexis Drukenbrod as Jill, Allison Schratz as Little Red, Shawn Merritt as the Munchkin Police, and Emma Franks as the Witchdoctor.

Wheels and Deals

Car Show

The Pennsylvania State Championship Fishing Tournament (PSCFT) will sponsor the annual Wheels and Deals Car Show on May 26, from 9. to 2 p.m., at the Fishing Tournament Grounds (90 Main Street Tidioute). Registration will take place from 9 a.m. to noon. Judging will be from 12:15 to 1:30 p.m. and awards will begin promptly at 2 p.m. There is an $8 registration per vehicle entered. There will be a total of 23 trophies awarded and dash plaques given to the first 50 vehicles registered. New this year is a six-foot tall “Best In Show” trophy sponsored by Magas Muffler of Indiana, Pa. Awards will be given for Best In Show, Most Original, Best Ford, Best GM, Best Mopar, Best Tractor (2nd and 3rd), Best Motorcycle (2nd and 3rd), Best Kids Class (Pedal Cars, Tractors) Oldest, and Top 10- Honorable Mention.

Memorial Day Ham and Turkey Party

PSCFT will hold a Memorial Day Ham and Turkey Party on Sunday May 27, at Tidioute Firehall (224 Main Street Tidioute). There will be 14 games this year, including platters and roasts cut fresh by Evan’s Market. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and games start at 7:30 p.m. Door prizes will be given during intermission. Pop and alcohol are provided (must be 21 to drink– Drink responsibly). Food is available.

Wine Tasting Fundraiser

The Fishing Tournament is hosting its first Wine Tasting Fundraiser on June 2 at the Tidioute Firehall (224 Main Street Tidioute) from 1 to 4 p.m. Tickets are $10 at the door and a complimentary custom designed sampler glass will be provided. Those wishing to participate in the wine tasting event or purchase wine, must have the designated wristband for the event. There will be ID for this event. Those wishing to sample and purchase wine must be 21 years or older. There will also be multiple craft vendors, basket raffles, 50/50 and t-shirts for sale. Those who do not wish to participate in the tasting or purchasing of the wine are invited to come check out the vendors and the showcased raffles by paying $3 at the door. Kayak Raffle

PSCFT is holding a Kayak Raffle of an Explorer 10.4 Kayak with an Oar and a Life Jacket. Tickets are on sale for $2 each or three tickets for $5. Kayak details are as follows: Length: 124 inches, Width: 31inches, Height: 13.25 inches, Capacity: 300lbs.

The ticket drawing will be held at 4 p.m. July 14 at the Tidioute Boat Launch. Winner need not be present to win but must make arrangements to pick up their prize within 30 days. Tickets can be purchased by contacting Kylei Davison (814-779-1968), any committee member, or at Buccardo’s Restaurant and More (173 Main Street Tidioute).

Memorial Service

There will be a Memorial Service on Saturday, May 26 at 11:30 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church for Thomas Schall. Friends and family are invited to join in this Memorial Service.

Jesus On Stage

Attention travelers, we are still putting a bus trip together leaving Tidioute at 6:30 a.m. to travel to Lancaster, Pa. with a stop for breakfast and a stop at Kitchen Kettle Village for shopping and on to the Sights and Sounds Theater on Saturday, October 20, to see Jesus on Stage. You are invited to experience the greatest rescue story of all times. Jesus is the action packed musical stage adventure that takes you on a miraculous journey.

We will enjoy a buffet dinner following the show and then go to our hotel.

On Sunday morning, Oct. 21, following breakfast, the bus will depart for the Amish Farm and House Tour and then on to the Dutch Apple Dinner Theater for a buffet lunch, followed by Sister Act. After which, we will head back to Tidioute with a stop for dinner (cost on your own) arriving in Tidioute approximately 9:30 p.m.
