Thursday, March 23 will be Corned Beef and Cabbage, parsley potatoes, crinkle cut carrots, dinner roll, sliced peaches with oatmeal.

Monday, March 27 will be Roast Turkey and gravy, homemade stuffing, baby carrots, cabbage, Italian bread, sliced peaches.

Tuesday, March 28 will be Penne Pasta with meatballs and sauce, mixed greens with tomato, cucumbers, carrots, cabbage, Italian bread, sliced peaches.

Thursday, March 30 will be Open Faced Roast Beef Sandwich with gravy, whipped potatoes, peas and carrots, wheat bread, sugar cookie.

Call the center, which is located in the community room at Tidioute Towers, at 484-3020.

Food Commodity

Salvation Army Food Commodity pick up will be Wednesday, March 22 at Tidioute Towers from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Basketball Tournament

In just 2 days the Tidioute Alumni will take on the Staff members in the first game of the evening at Tidioute Community Charter School Spanish Club Basketball Tournament. In game two the High School Girls go up against the High School Boys. The winners of game one and game two will take on each other in a free throw competition.

There will be 9 to 10 players on each team.

Players should be at the school by 5:45 p.m. workers there by 4:30.

Admission is $5 per person an d children under the age of 4 are free.

There will be a 50/50 raffle, a raffle for a one night’s stay in Cobblestone Hotel, several choices, a hoop shoot contest.

Members of the Spanish Club will be traveling to Spain in 2018 and would appreciate your support at this event.

Tidioute Health

The 22nd annual Tidioute Health Fair will take place this Saturday, March 25 at Tidioute Firehall from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Comprehensive Blood testing will be done for $40 per person and will include tests for Heart Disease, Kidney Disease, Diabetes, thyroid Function, Anemia, and Liver Disease.

There also is an A1C test for $10 if you want. Men have the option of the PSA (prostate cancer) testing for $17

There will be several free tests being conducted such as: Body Fat Analysis, Blood Pressure, Height, Weight, BMI, Diabetic Foot Evaluations, Glaucoma Screenings and Pulse OX.

Since this is a 12 hour fasting blood screening, the kitchen will be open with some light foods, coffee, tea and juice.

If you did not get to schedule an appointment please come to this Health Fair and you can still have the blood work done as long as you fast for the 12 hours.

14th Annual Tippy Soup Cook-Off

Sunday, March 26 will be the 14th Annual Tippy Canoe Soup Cook-Off at 1 p.m.

Those who have entered please have your soup there by 12 noon so the judges can get started with the judging.

Craft Show

The Annual Pennsylvania State Championship Fishing will be holding their Annual Craft Show at the Tidioute Firehall on Saturday, September 23 from 9 a.m. till 4:30 p.m.

To reserve your table that are 8 feet by 32 inches with a cost of $15 per table and $5 for additional rack space, please contact Reta Adams at 814-484-7310 or Bev Stotler at 814-484-3549.

Vendors are responsible for their own sales taxes and collecting sales tax if it applies. Also vendor will be responsible for clean up around their space.

After the hall rental is paid, all proceeds will be split between the Tidioute Volunteer Fire Department and PSCFT.

Spring Fling

The Spring Fling will be held on Friday, March 31 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Tidioute Community Charter School for grades 7 to 12.

Admission is $3 single and $5 per couple. “Dressy-Casual”

Music by the Brown Boyz. Light refreshments will be served.

March Madness Winners

American Legion, Post 0334 has announced the winners of the March Madness TV Raffles.

First Place winner for the 55 inch TV was Greg Krause and Second Place winner for the 50 inch TV was Josh Neall.

Congratulations to the winners and thank you to all those who purchased tickets.

Parade Themes

You still have time to cast your monetary vote for a Parade Theme for the 2017 PA State Championship Fishing Tournament Parade.

Ballot boxes are located at Tidioute Trading Post, Buccardo’s Restaurant, and Evans Market.

The theme receiving the most money will be the theme. And the last day to cast your monetary vote is Saturday, April 15 at the Easter Egg Hunt.

Pierogi Sales

St. John Church of Tidioute is still selling Pierogies as a fund raiser during Lent this year. Sales are every Saturday from now till April 8 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in St John Center.

They will be making Potato and cheese as well as potato and sauerkraut pierogi.

Pre-order each week by Thursday to guarantee availability.

Walk-ins are also welcome.

Cost is $9 per dozen and $6 per half dozen.

VFD Meetings

Tidioute Area Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary members will meet on Tuesday, March 28 at 6 p.m. and the fire department members will meet at 6:30 p.m. There will be a board meeting following the regular meeting.

Cake Decorating

Tidioute Community Charter School will be hosting a Cake Decorating Class on Sunday, April 2 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the school.

Cost is $15 per person and is open to anyone who would like to decorate cakes. Younger children are welcome and should be accompanied by an adult.

Class will be instructed by Betty Nicholson. All supplies will be furnished.

If interested please sign up in the school office or call 484-3550 to get signed up.

Gun Raffle

Sons of American Legion Post 0334 is having a gun raffle for a Winchester SXP Turkey 12 ga. 3 ¢ .

The drawing will be April 29 and tickets at on sale now for only $2 each or 3 for $5.

Grocery/Gas Raffle

Tidioute Area Volunteer Fire Department is holding a raffle for Groceries and Gas.

First Place winner will receive $250 in groceries and Second Place winner will receive a $100 Gas Card.

Tickets are $2 each and the drawing will be as soon as all the tickets are sold.

Tickets are on sale at Tidioute Trading Post, Buccardo’s Restaurant and from members of the fire department.

Easter Egg Hunt

The Annual Pennsylvania State Championship Fishing Tournament Easter Egg Hunt will be on Saturday, April 15 at 10 a.m. in the Tippy Ballfield located south of the Tidioute bridge in Limestone Township.

The field will be divided into three different age groups and there will be prizes for the lucky eggs.

Parents are reminded to dress their children according to the weather and to bring a container for your child/children to collect eggs in. Each child will need a container.

Good news, the Easter Bunny will make an appearance.

Easter Basket Raffle

PSCFT committee members voted to raffle the usual Easter Baskets with the drawing set for Saturday, April 15 at the Easter Egg Hunt.

Tickets are on sale at Buccardo’s Restaurant for $1 each, the baskets are on display there as well.

Proceeds benefit the upcoming tournament set for Thursday, September 21 to Sunday, September 24, 2017

Raft Races

VFW Auxiliary members are making plans for their annual Raft Races that will be held on Saturday, July 8.

The race starts behind the Wildwood Inn and ends at the Tidioute Boat Launch, where prizes will awarded to the winners.

Entry fee is $5 per person.

The theme this year is “The Great Outdoors”.

Troop Boxes

Tidioute VFW Auxiliary will be sending Troop Boxes of goodies to our Military Service Personnel serving outside the USA in time for Easter.

Second Harvest

Second Harvest Produce Express food distribution in Tidioute will be on Saturday, April 1 at 10 a.m. at the Tidioute Firehall.

Second Harvest is an equal opportunity provider. Food distributed on a first come, first served basis and is for Warren County residents in need of food assistance.

Please bring a couple of boxes or laundry baskets to carry your food in as boxes are limited.

Soup Dinners

Tidioute First Presbyterian Women’s Association will be holding their third Soup Supper at the First Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, April 4 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

There will be at least three different kinds of soup to choose from, crackers or bread, salad and dessert.

Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy.

Monetary donations will be accepted.

Blood Bank

Tidioute Community Charter School will be hosting a Blood Drive on Thursday, April 6 from 12:30 p.m. till 6 p.m. at the Tidioute Firehall.

Walk ins welcome.

Banners Are Up

Tidioute Borough employees finally caught a break with the weather and were able to hang up our new banners displaying the new Tidioute Borough Logo.

The plaques for in memory and in honor of loved ones and family are on display at the borough office during regular business hours.

Thank you all for your donations and support of this project that has now been completed.
