Knights of Columbus
The Tidioute Knights of Columbus will hold their regular general meeting on Thursday, Nov. 5, at St John Center at 7 p.m.
All members are asked to attend this important meeting.
There will be an update on gun raffle, up coming Free Throw Championship, reappointment of the Financial Secretary and the 2016 membership cards will be available at this meeting.
Trick or Treating
Tidioute and the surrounding area will celebrate Trick or Treating on Saturday night October 31 from 6 to 8 p.m.
Taking part in this is Tidioute Borough and Watson township.
Also, members of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 8803 will be at the Tidioute Firehall handing our treats to all the children who stop in from 6 to 8 p.m..

Holiday Food Vouchers
The 2015 Thanksgiving and Christmas Food Voucher Applications can be found at Tidioute Library, Buccardo’s Restaurant, Tidioute Towers, Evan’s Market, Tidioute Post Office, Northwest Savings Bank, and Tidioute Trading Post.
Applications must be received by November 11, Mailed to Tidioute United Methodist Church, 206 Main St., Tidioute, PA 16315. No exceptions.

Bell Ringers Needed
Tidioute Unit of Salvation Army is in urgent need of Bell Ringers for inside Evans Market Call Mary Donahue at 484-3471; inside the Northwest Savings Bank call Barb Downey at 589-7508 or to ring in the parking lot at Tidioute Trading Post call Linda Scott at 484-7525.
Our unit is able to keep 90% of all donations here in Tidioute to help those in need.

Treasurers For Children
Once again Tidioute branch of Northwest Savings Bank is the site for the Treasurers For Children Program.
Applications are available at the bank and is for children from birth to the age of 18 as long as they are still in high school.
Applications will be accepted until November 27 at the bank, tags will be put on the Christmas Tree and volunteer angels can pick up as many tags as they want to shop for. There will be a tag for each child whose name is submitted. All unwrapped gifts must be returned to the bank before December 18.

Gratitude Extended
The family of Aubrey Sonney would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the Tidioute community for the many acts of kindness and expressions of sympathy during their time of loss.
They would like to thank those involved in making the firehall available to them for a meal and time of fellowship after Aubrey’s memorial service. They would like to thank the ladies of the community who graciously helped with food and service during this time and the fire police who helped with traffic directions.
They would like to thank their Tidioute Baptist Church family and the facility, staff and students at the Tidioute Community Charter School for their service and support.
They were truly overwhelmed with the support and care that has been extended by the members of our community.

Tidioute Angel Program
The Tidioute Angel Program (TAP) is once again available to serve those in need because we understand times are tough, and we want to be able to help. TAP is available for the holidays, but also runs throughout the school year.
If your child or someone you know that attends Tidioute Community Charter School, has a need for new shoes, a winter jacket, a backpack, school supplies, clothing, Christmas gifts, etc., please let Monica Morgan know via email at mmorgan@tidioutecharter.com or by sending the information in a sealed envelope to Mrs. Morgan, and please be sure to include sizes. No phone calls please. She would like to provide assistance to families in need. TAP is highly confidential, students information is not shared with anyone else, and items are distributed to students discreetly.
TAP operates completely on donations, so if you would like to donate to this program, simply mail your donation (checks payable to TCCS) to: TCCS Angel Program, c/o Mrs. Morgan, 241 Main St., Tidioute, PA 16351.
New Rates:
Starting with your November bill you will notice an increase with your water and sewer rates. The new rates will be $2.21 for water and $1.99 for sewer for every 1,000 gallons used.
These rate increases are a SWCMA decision no borough council. Rates are being increased on the advice of their Certified Public Accountant. A business decision.
Winter Maintenance:
With the winter weather coming, borough maintenance would like to remind consumers that with new Regulations and Policies adopted in September 2015, it will be the responsibility of the residents to pay the cost of repairs to any damaged or frozen meters.
Please take precautionary measures to insure that your meter does not freeze.

Goodwill Donation Fundraiser
2015 Tidioute Community Charter School /Goodwill Donation Drive Fundraiser will be October 26 trough November 13 at the Tidioute Community Charter School. all students, faculty, staff, community members, and families are invited to participate.
To participate just fill the blue Goodwill donation bag (or any bag) with gently used clothes, shoes, belts, purses, hats, scarves, and comforters. Bring them to Mrs. Morgan’s room (or to TCCS for community members), and be sure your name and grade are written on the bag if you are a student. Donations do not have to be in a Goodwill Bag to count for the drive.
Goodwill will make a monetary donation for the items collected to help raise money for Allexa Morgan’s Trip to Spain.
Thank you for helping Allexa reach her goal while helping Goodwill meet their mission of “Meeting life challenges through opportunity, education, training and work”.

Watson Grange News
An informal meeting of Watson Grange was held with Matt Irons, master presiding.
Reports of the recent meeting of PA State Grange held in Warren was given by Watson Grange delegates John Hollabaugh and Matt Irons.
The 2016 session of PA State Grange will be at Shippensburg University October 21 through 23, 2016.
Three Watson Junior Grange members, Braden Thomson, Maddie Warham and Gabbie Lindsay served as marching candidates and received the official Junior Degree. They also received the following awards: Braden-first place for his Building Block Creation in the Youth Category; Maddie won second place for her pumpkin and Gabbie won second place for her foam creation.
Subordinate members receiving awards at State Session were Deanna Hollabaugh-first for her cinnamon rolls and second for her beaded ornament; Jean Hollabaugh won third place for her plastic canvas ornament and Matt Irons won first place for Favorite Anything and third place for his wind chime.
Donations were approved for the Tidioute Food Bank and a Sister Granger from Dawson Grange in Fayette County.
A Turkey Party has been planned for Friday, November 13 at the Pomona Grange building on the Warren County Fair Grounds with all funds going to Larry and Peggy Willis who lost everything in a house fire. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and the games begin at 7 p.m. The Willis’ have been faithful supporters attending nearly every auction sale held there for many years.
Brokenstraw Grange members that received the 6th degree were Rusty and Chris Thomas, Brian Marfink and Debbie Farrar.
Upcoming events include Nov. 7 at 1 p.m. an Auction at Pomona Grange; Nov. 12 at 6:30 will be the regular Watson Grange meeting with sandwiches for refreshment; Nov. 14 at 9 a.m. will be the Pomona Grange meeting at the Pomona Building. and on Nov. 14 there will be the Turkey Party at Watson Grange with doors opening at 6 p.m. and the games will begin at 7 p.m.
Liberty’s Way
TCCS will be collecting canned goods and other non-perishable food items for Liberty’s Way, a homeless shelter for veterans located in Lander, PA
Liberty’s Way provides food and shelter free of charge for homeless veterans until they can get back on their feet.
This Food Drive will end on November 6.
Students can bring in either canned goods or other non-perishable foods and they will earn a point for each item they bring in, and the grade with the most items will win an ice cream party.
Please put your child’s name and grade on the bag so they get credit for their donations.
Donations can also be left in the box in the lobby.

Fresh Fruit For Christmas
Tidioute Community Charter School students are taking orders for fresh fruit such as grapefruit, apples, oranges, tangelos and mandarins.
Prices vary according to the choice you pick. Fruit will be here in time for Christmas and is coming from the Florida Indian River Groves.

Operation Christmas Child
With Christmas just nine weeks away, it is time to think of the children who might not have a Christmas.
You can help with this by packing a shoebox with items for a girl or boy and in a selected age group such as 2-4, 5-9 or 10-14 years of age.
Suggested items would be hard candy (no chocolate), toys such as match box cars, dolls, horses, school supplies, hygiene items, T-shirts, sunglasses, socks, ball caps, jewelry, hair bands or clips, watches, flashlights (with extra batteries) gum. Please, no war related items, guns, knives, or military figures, lotions or liquids, medications or vitamins or breakable items.

Liberty’s Way provides food and shelter free of charge for homeless veterans until they can get back on their feet. This drive will end on Nov. 6.

Members of the Soldiers and Sailors Home in Erie had 17 present with five staff members for a dinner of roast beef, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans and homemade pies.
A rather large selection of pies were donated by the members of the Auxiliary of VFW Post 8803.
Nine auxiliary member and six veterans from Tidioute VFW Post 8803 helped with the dinner and bingo games.

These fruits are picked fresh from the groves in Florida to fill the orders. They will be shipped to the school within three days of being picked. If the fruit is stored properly it can last up to three months.

Halloween Treats
It’s that time of the year again.
The auxiliary to VFW Post 8803 will be filling treat bags and distributing on Halloween night at the Tidioute Firehall from 6 to 8 p.m.
They are asking for your support with a donation to help them fill at least 225 bags. Checks can be made payable to the Auxiliary VFW Post 8803 and mailed to 93 Main St, Tidioute, PA 16351 or left behind the bar at the club.

CROP Walk
The Annual CROP Walk will take place on Sunday, Oct. 11 at 2 p.m. starting at the Methodist Church.

League of Women
Voters
The Warren County League of Women Voters volunteers along with PSAR members visited the county high schools in September to complete voter registration forms.
Information was given on the responsibilities of positions up for elections on the November ballot.
It was emphasizes the importance of being a USA citizen and the privilege of secret voting
League volunteer Phyllis Wright in cooperation with teacher Mike Patterson talked with 17- and 18-year-old students at Tidioute Community Charter School.
League member June Dunshie coordinated the countywide education program.
Holiday Lighting
The Holiday Lighting Committee will meet on Wednesday, Oct.14 in the Tidioute Library at 6 p.m. and some new volunteers are needed.
Also, the committee is accepting donations to help defray the cost of replacing bulbs, wreaths, park decorations, etc.
Monetary donations can be made payable to Tidioute Holiday Committee and mailed to Nancy Schwab, 1 Scott St., Tidioute, PA 16351.
Successful Walleye
Tournament
The 19th George Jones Memorial Walleye Tournament was held on Saturday, Oct. 3.
There were nine entries and they brought in a total of 14 fish weighing a total of 37.49 pounds.
First Place winners were Justin Drukenbrod and Ryan Williams with 9.96 pounds and they also won the Adult/Youth team award.
Second Place went to Walt Stover with 7.29 and in third place was Kirk Schwab and Terry Cotterman with 5.85
Walt Stover won the Lunker Award with 7.29
Thank you to John Motzer for the plaques, Moore’s Garden Shoppe/Linda and Sandy Palmer for the loan of mums, Hickory Creek Archery for the $20 gift certificate, Flying W Ranch and Hickory Beverage for the cash donations.
The committee will donate $100 to the Jr. Champion Angler contest for the 2016 PSCFT Jr. Champion Angler.
Harvest Services
Allegheny Bible Church members and other community members gathered on Sunday for the Annual Harvest Services at the Swedish Union Church on Swede Road.
Pastor Dale Timco delivered the message.
Those attending were invited to the home of Don and Leah McGuire for a Harvest Lunch and to honor Pastor Dale Timco as part of the Pastor appreciation
The next service at Swedish Union Church will be Sunday, Dec. 20 for the Candlelight Services.
Soldiers and Sailors
Soldiers and Sailors will be coming to Tidioute VFW Post 8803 on Wednesday, Oct. 15.
These folks are from the Soldiers and Sailors Home in Erie. They play lots of Bingo and enjoy a roast beef dinner with mashed potatoes and homemade pie and a bowl of chili.
Members of the ladies auxiliary prepare the dinner.
Dollar Dinner
Tidioute Methodist Church will host a $1 Dinner where you only $1 to eat on Wednesday, Oct. 14 at 6 p.m. at the Methodist Church.
Bring the family and enjoy an evening with friends and neighbors.
Chain Saw Winner
Dave Extein won the chainsaw at the fishing tournament that was raffled off by the Women’s Guild of St John Church
Fall Festival
The 2015 Fall Festival will be held in the ballfield across from the Tidioute Firehall on Sunday, Oct. 25 from 1 to 5 p.m.
