Sugar Grove Life

Photos submitted to Times Observer Area businesses set up a multitude of snacking places throughout the streets. Food pantry

The Sugar Grove Free Methodist Church, located at 210 Jamestown Street, is the host site for the northern part of Warren County for this program. Second Harvest is the major supplier of food to charitable agencies throughout Northwestern Pennsylvania. They obtain products from the organization’s warehouse and distribute them to individuals and families facing hard times in 11 counties. The next Second Harvest Mobile Food Pantry will be held on Saturday, Dec.17th opening at 8:30 a.m. Rumor has it that Santa will also be making a stop here to visit with the children.

Annual Sugar Grove Christmas Walk

The first major winter storm of the season hit just as the preparations for The 7th Annual Sugar Grove Christmas Walk were happening on Friday, December 9th. It did keep some people from enjoying the evening, but others were thrilled that all the snow arrived just in time for the event.

Santa arrived in the town park with his North Pole helpers riding atop the Sugar Grove Volunteer Fire Truck at 5:00 p.m. to kick off the evening.  Our AMVETS Post #50 provided hot dogs at Santa’s Building in the park. There were prize giveaways, decorated and living windows, live music of the season, art exhibits, and more. Thank you to all the merchants who take the time to make this evening special. Thank you to the SGVFD, Grant Lumber, The First Presbyterian Church, Kwik Fill, SG Beverage, Hebners Town Styling, McKinney Funeral Home, Wilcox Brothers, The Conewango Clippers, Catering Plus, The students from EMHS and EES for providing artwork throughout our businesses, The BearLake Church, Warren County Dairy Princess, The Clock Ship, Sugar Grove Garden Club, Darlings Pharmacy, Town and Country, Fralic Chiropractic, SG Free Methodist Church, United Methodist Church, Minas, New Beginnings, SG Laundromat, and the Sugar Grove Boro for assisting with the Bill Gourley Memorial Hayride driven by his son Brian Gourley. Merry Christmas to all in the Community from Sugar Grove and next year, the person in charge of ordering snow can cut back a little.
