Walter Malloy Memorial Corn Hole Tournament

The Family of Walter Malloy will be hosting a Corn Hole Tournament in Memory of Walter Malloy, a past commander and initiator of their Hospital Equipment division. The Vets Club has been a major contributor to many charities and fund raising efforts in the community. The double elimination tournament will be held on Sunday, August 27, at Sheffield’s Vets Club Pavilion. Registration is 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., with tournament play beginning at 1 p.m. Cost is $10 per person. First place is $100 per team, second place $80 per team and third place $50 per team. (Payout is subject to change — based on 24 teams) All money raised will be donated to the Sheffield VFW Hospital Equipment Fund.

Several other fund-raising efforts will also be available. A Chinese auction will feature a patriotic wreath, Steeler and Pirate items, a variety of gift cards and Lotto tickets, and framed Warren County scenic pictures along with several other donated prizes. Chances are three for $1.

A set of patriotic corn hole boards will be raffled off the day of the tournament. The tickets are one for $3, three for $5 and eight for $10.

A 50/50 drawing will be held the day of the tournament. Tickets are one for $1, three for $2, and 10 for $5.

Tickets for the Chinese auction, 50/50 and the corn hole set can be purchased in advance at the Sheffield VFW or from any family member. Winners need not be present to win.

Tournament players and community members can also purchase lunch while watching the competition. Hamburgers, hot dogs, pasta salad, chips, cookies, soda, water and beer will be available.

The family of Walter Malloy is pleased to be holding this event for the Sheffield Vets Club.
