Museum open house Saturday
Elk Township Historical Society invites residents to its museum open house on Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. It is located at the four corners in Scandia, in the former Scandia School.
All ages are welcome to explore our museum, to view what life was like in early Elk Township. We have an amazing collection, for a small museum.
Want to look up relatives who lived in the community? We can help with that. Someone you know is buried up here, we have cemetery records. Early families, many notebooks of information are available to browse, as well as walls of photos.
Walk across the hall and take a seat in the restored 1800s classroom of our original one-room school. History greets you and 100 years of Elk Township’s school photos and records will entice you to stay awhile.
There will be guides to answer your questions and the museum is free.
