Blood drives

The Community Blood Bank will hold a blood drive from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday, Aug. 14, at the Warren Manor and 1:30 to 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, at the Youngsville Volunteer Fire Department. The blood bank will also hold a blood drive from noon to 5:30 p.m. Aug. 19 at Holy Redeemer Church. Call 814-596-3395 to schedule an appointment to donate. Appointments are encouraged to reduce your wait time but are not required. Walk-ins will be taken as space allows. Community Blood Bank partners with hospitals in Northwest Pennsylvania and Western New York to provide blood for patients in need. Donors must be at least 17 years old, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds and be in good general health as well as have a valid photo ID. Prior to donating, those giving blood should eat a good, solid meal and drink at least 18 ounces of water.

Monday evening at the YMCA, Bill Kuppinger and Russ Kelley placed first with Pat Fincher and Kim Barber in second. At the Allegheny Community Center on Tuesday, Connie Michell and Bill Massa were first and second. Donna Hickey came in first Thursday at the Woman’s Club and Karen Conarro was second.

The Eisenhower Class of 1973 will be having breakfast at The Bucket Cafe in Sugar Grove at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 16. Spouses, family and friends are welcome to attend.

Class of 1959 meets Thursday

The WHS Class of 1959 will meet for lunch on Thursday at noon at Docksiders at Wolf Run Marina. Spouses and guests are always welcome.
