Game Commission recruitment

The Pennsylvania Game Commission will be holding deputy recruitment event at Chapman State Park on Saturday, Sept. 9 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Pavilion #2.

Sylvania retirees to meet

Retired ladies who worked at Osram Sylvania will meet at New Beginnings Restaurant today, Friday, at 11:30 a.m.

Outdoor club to ride

The Allegheny Outdoor Club will ride from the East St. end of the bike trail to the Allegheny National Fish Hatchery via Hemlock Rd. on Saturday starting at 5:30 p.m.

Teen library events

Several teen events are scheduled for September at the Warren Public Library. The first is a “Dice & Combat Society” RPG game open to students in grades 6-12. That will be held on Sept. 11 from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. The Teen Library Council will meet on Sept. 25 and a teen day program will be held Thursday, Sept. 28, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. That program is specifically for teens who attend school virtually or at home.

Class to meet

The Warren Area High School Class of 1965 will meet for lunch on Sept. 13 at 11:30 a.m. at the Eagles Club.

Mental health

session

Beacon Light Behavioral Health System will hold a public discussion about mental health care in the community on Wednesday, September 13 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at 1885 Market Street, Warren. For details, call (814) 723-1832.

Garden club meets

The Hill and Dale Garden Club met this month at the Panama United Methodist Church. Carol Markham spoke about watershed conservation. The Club’s fair exhibit took first place and a horticulture report was given on sunflowers. The club discussed a fundraiser for the October meeting centered around any unwanted yard or household items that will be sold or auctioned. The next meeting will be held on Sept. 27 at the Roger Tory Peterson Museum. The group will meet at 11 a.m. in Sugar Grove to carpool.

PennDOT

recruitment session

PennDOT is looking to hire CDL equipment operators and plow truck drivers as well as support staff. A hiring event will be held at the PennDOT maintenance office in Starbrick on Sept. 7 from noon to 5 p.m.

Warren Vegan

dinner reservations due

The Warren Vegans and Vegetarians dinner group will be meeting at the Arbor House on Sept. 13 for a three-course dinner. Reservations are required by Thursday and can be made at dreed107@verizon.net or the group’s Facebook page. Everyone is welcome.
