Class to meet
The Warren High School Class of 1959 is meeting for lunch on Thursday, July 13, at 12:00 noon at Ida Mae’s in Russell (the former Wendy’s Cafe). Spouses and guests are always welcome.
Farmers Market vouchers
Local seniors 60+ who are struggling with the cost of food may be eligible to receive some fresh food options through this year’s Farmers Market voucher program. Distribution of vouchers will be held on July 10, 11 and 19 at the Experience Inc. community room, 905 Fourth Ave. from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. as well as in Forest County at the Endeavor Senior Center on July 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. To be eligible for the vouchers, residents must be over 60 years old and have an individual income of under $26,973 per year or a two-person income under $36,482 per year. Vouchers will be distributed in person and must be used at a Pennsylvania farmers market before Nov. 30. In addition to in-person pick-up, seniors can designate a proxy individuals to pick up their vouchers for them. Proxy forms must be completed before an individual arrives for the vouchers and can be obtained at Allegheny Community Center or Experience Inc.
Garden club meets
The Hill and Dale Garden Club met on June 28 at the Wrightsville Church. A total of 23 members attended. Good turnout was reported for the work bee for Garden Therapy at the Rouse Home and Suites. Fall flowers, greenery and cups will be needed for the fall session. The Theme for Warren County Fair Garden Club Entries will be Fairy Gardens. Members are encouraged to put their own entries in. The club will meet next on July 26 at the Youngsville Borough building where officers will discuss senior fraud.
