Veterans Affairs Office to close on Fridays

The Warren County Veterans Affairs Office will be closed on Fridays for at least a month. Veterans Affairs Director Delores Stec will be out of the office through the middle of January. Assistant Mary Allen will continue working Mondays through Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and a representative of the Pennsylvania Veterans Affairs office will be on-site on Tuesdays from about 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to handle director-level issues until Stec returns.

Class to meet

The Youngsville High School Class of 1962 will meet at Station 61 for brunch today at 11 a.m.

Christmas party

The North Warren Presbyterian Church will hold a Children’s Christmas Party on Saturday, Dec. 17, from 10 a.m. to noon. All Children aged 4 to grade 5 can experience the meaning of Christmas through lessons, crafts and music with a special visit from Santa and Crystal Claus.

Bridge results

Ed Bello and Lana Creal came in first last week on Monday evening at the YMCA with Diane Callahan and Marge Polito in second. Sherry Griffiths and Marge Neel were first and second Tuesday afternoon at the Allegheny Community Center. At the Woman’s Club Thursday afternoon, Bill Massa placed first and Alice Kellogg was second. Anyone interested in the January bridge marathon or beginning classes is asked to call the Woman’s Club.

Library to host Stuff-a-Pup workshop

The Tidioute Public Library will be having a Stuff-a-Pup workshop on Dec. 10 at 1 p.m. Attendees will stuff their own 15-ich plush, labradoodle puppy. Supplies are limited so reservations are requested to (814) 484-3581. The program is for children ages three and up. Throughout the month of December the library will have a Christmas Craft Table set up with supplies and instructions to make fun and easy Christmas crafts. A new activity will be put out every Friday. Library hours are Monday and Wednesday from noon to 7 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Team Haven Sent to offer gift

For the ninth year, Team Haven Sent is offering to wrap gifts for people on Dec. 17 and 18. Members will be at the Brokenstraw Valley Winery on Dec. 17 and Dec. 18. The group will provide papers, bows and tags. Donations will be accepted for the service and will benefit Warren General Hospital’s Cancer Care Center.
