Grief workshop

The Schorman Center, Hospice of Warren County is offering a free, four-week grief support workshop. The sessions will be offered in both Monday morning (10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.) and Monday evening sessions (6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.). Workshops will be held in the conference room of the Hospice of Warren County office, 1 Main Ave., Warren. The dates are October 3, 10, 17 and 24. Anyone interested is asked to call the Hospice office at (814) 723-8060 by Oct. 26 to register.

Christian women to meet

Jamestown-Warren Christian Women Village Missions Country Partners’ September luncheon will be held at noon Tuesday, Sept. 13, at Praise Fellowship Church, Russell. Spiritual guest speaker will be Kathy Joy Hoffer of Erie. Lunch will be provided by the committee for $6. Cowpokes to meet

The Kinzua Cowpokes 4-H Club will hold its first meeting of the new 2022-23 4-H year on Oct. 2. The meeting will be held at the Warren County 4-H Center in Pittsfield beginning at noon. The club focuses on teaching youth about the animal science industry through the beef project. Interested individuals do not need to own an animal in order to join and learn. Each year the members begin by learning safety and handling skills when working around animals. Members develop leadership skills and take on responsibilities in developing club goals for the year. Support group to meet

HEROES, a support group for parents with children with disabilities, will meet at 6 p.m. Sept. 22 at the Jefferson DeFrees Family Center. The speaker will focus on self-regulation.

Ugly clothes dance

HEROES, a support group for parents with children with disabilities, is holding an Ugly Clothes Dance at 7 p.m. Nov. 5 at the Conewango Club. Tickets are $25 each or $40 for two. Outfits purchased at the HEROES thrift store will get $5 off their ticket price.

Wiltsie Ladies Aid to host annual sale

Wiltsie Ladies Aid will hold its annual sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, and Saturday, Oct. 8, at Wiltsie Community Church, 2981 Swede Hill Road, Russell. The sale will feature Scrubbie’s Rag Rugs, jewelry, dishes, baby items, towels, and many new items.

Task Force to set up sobriety checkpoints

The Warren County DUI Task Force will be on patrol and setting up sobriety checkpoints this weekend. The task force asks drivers to plan ahead and find a sober driver.
