Bridge results

Lynn Way and Richard Woodruff took first on Monday night at the YMCA with Bill Kuppinger and Sharon Rossell in second. On Tuesday at the ACC, Bill Massa finished first with Pat King in second and on Thursday at the Woman’s Club Carol Stone was first with Linda Jensen second.

Garden Club meets

The Warren Garden Club met on Aug. 18 at Kinzua Bridge State Park. Kane Garden Club invited Warren Garden Club to be their guests for a picnic lunch and a tour of a Mount Jewett Dahlia Farm. A Sept. 15 meeting will be held at Olmsted Manor, Ludlow, Pa. at noon. Lunch in the Lodge will be served at 12:15 p.m. with a tour of the grounds and gardens afterward. A reservation is required to attend this event.

Event to celebrate Smokey Bear

Chapman State Park will be helping Smokey Bear celebrate his birthday. Smokey Night will be held from 7-8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, at the amphitheater. A parade through the campground, led by Smokey Bear, will kick things off, with children and campers invited to participate on foot or bicycle. The parade will end back at the amphitheater where there will be a program on fire prevention and a birthday celebration. In case of rain, the event will start and end at Pavilion 4.
