AKELEY — The Akeley United Methodist Women will hold its annual pancake supper Saturday at the church on Akeley Road from 4:30 to 7 p.m. The supper consists of pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs, homemade applesauce and beverages. The price is by donation.

Chicken BBQ set

The Garland Presbyterian Church, 3915 Route 27, will be holding a chicken barbecue on the first day of trout season, April 2, starting at noon. Cost is $12.

VFW to meet

The monthly meetings for the Tidioute VFW Post will be as follows: board of directors on Monday, April 4, at 5 p.m.; Servicemens meeting is on Sunday, April 10, at 9 a.m.; VFW meeting on Sunday, April 10, at 9:30 a.m. and the auxiliary meeting on Tuesday, April 12, at 6:30 p.m.

Bridge results

Richard Woodruff and Lynn Way took first on Monday night at the YMCA with Rita Mancuso and Connie Michell in second, and Laurie Curren and Sally Steele in third. On Tuesday at the Community Center Marge Neal placed first and Bill Massa was second. Thursday Woman’s Club play had Donna Holding in first place and Laurie Curren in second. In Friday’s play at the Conewango Club Joyce Hill placed first and Rita Mancuso was second.
