Ridge Runners meet

The Ridge Runners 4-H club held its monthly meeting Jan. 12 at the Clarendon Fire Hall. Three members presented including Bristol Holden on navicular bones in a horse’s foot and the importance of proper shoeing. Jon Huelings spoke about the benefits of wearing shoes on a horse and the benefits of not putting shoes on a horse. Hialeah Stanton discussed her experience at the Pennsylvania Farm Show and competing with the Pennsylvania High School Rodeo.

Bridge results

Bill Kuppinger and Sharon Rissel placed first on Monday at the YMCA while Shellie Dahlie and Pat Fincher second. Diane Callahan was first Tuesday afternoon at the Allegheny Community Center and Phyllis Broadbent was second. At the Woman’s Club Thursday afternoon, Sherry Griffiths and Linda Jensen were first and second. The Marathon on Friday found Nan Cashman and Joyce Davis continuing in first place with Marcy O’Brien and Magda Fanaritis in second.

Scholarship application open

The WGH Hospital Auxiliary will be awarding scholarships to Warren County residents that are enrolled full-time in courses leading to certification and/or licensure in a professional health care field. Two healthcare courses must be part of the curriculum each semester. The money may be used for tuition, room, board and/or books. Applicants denied scholarships in a previous year are encouraged to reapply if their status now meets the required criteria. To begin the scholarship application process, applicants must submit a typewritten introductory letter that includes the following information: interest in the health care field; financial need; experience; volunteer and employment experience and when and where training has or will take place. If all criteria are met, an official application will then be sent to the applicant. This information must be mailed to the Warren General Hospital Auxiliary Board President, postmarked on or before Friday, March 18,2022. No hand delivered letters will be accepted. Grove City graduates

Two local students graduated in December from Grove City College. Hailie Cass of Tidioute and Rebekah Hogg of Grand Valley each graduated with a bachelor’s degree.
