Garden club meets
The Hill and Dale Garden Club held its Christmas Party meeting Dec. 8. It was reported that Wilcox Brothers will care for their garden in memory of Eleanor Wilcox. The Sugar Grove Borough has not informed the group if they will take over the Sugar Grove Park Garden. The club will continue to take care of the Miles Marker and the Northern Area Planter. Installation of officers fo 2022-2023 was held with the following installed. Presidential Co-Chairs: Donna Chapman, Donna Lundmark, and Marge Himber. 1st Vice President, Cheryl Vanco; Treasurer, Carol Eckert; Secretary, Muriel Redick; Sunshine Fund, Linda Feather and Brandi Weidemann; and Historian, Linda Feather.
Retiree’s breakfast
The National Forge Retiree Breakfast will be on Tuesday, Dec. 14, at 9 a.m. at Station 61 in Youngsville.
Bridge results
Richard Woodruff and Lynn Way took first at the YMCA on Monday while Shellie Dahlie and Sherra Babcock were second. At the Allegheny Community Center Tuesday afternoon, Phyllis Broadbent and Connie Lucia were first and second. Nan Cashman came in first Thursday afternoon at the Woman’s Club with Connie Lucia in second. There are five full tables for the Bridge Marathon in January at the Woman’s Club. Proof of vaccination will be required.
Class to meet
The Warren High School Class of 1957 will be meeting at Cornerstone, Warren, at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 18.
Paws announces holiday hours
Paws Along the River has announced holiday hours. The shelter will be open from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 24, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 31, and closed Saturday, Dec. 25 and Saturday, Jan. 1, 2022.
