The Sheffield Area Ecumenical Food Pantry has wrapped up a successful fundraiser. Seven area businesses welcomed more than 60 volunteer bell ringers at their establishments on the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving. Contributions were accepted at Howe’s True Value, The Community Market, Northwest Bank, Tops Friendly Market, Dollar General, Allegheny Pit Stop and Peterson Hardware. Over $3600 was donated to our Food Pantry to benefit those in need in the community. Anyone interested in contributing can send a donation to Jack Cashmere, P O Box 48, Sheffield, Pa., 16347.

4-H Awards

Several Sanford Saddles and Spurs 4-H club members were recognized at the Rotary 4-H Awards night last month. Bryceton Maille received the Rotary Ag Trophy, Gold Clover Award, Hoof Hours recognition for 400 hours, a project book pin, and the president leadership award. Alaina Ongley received hoof hour recognition for 400 hours; Evelyn Ongley received hoof hour recognition for 300 hours; Avery Morton received hoof hour recognition for 200 hours and Nora Morton received hoof hour recognition for 100 hours. The entire club was awarded the county’s Club Community Service Award this year.
