Hill & Dale club

meeting

The Hill & Dale Garden Club meeting held its October 27th meeting at the Wiltsie Community Church. Fall floral kits were delivered to patients at the Rouse. The Rouse residents expressed that they look forward to Garden Therapy being held in person. Officers were elected as well as a variety of committees. Election of officers was held. At the September meeting it was agreed to have 3 co-chairs to share the duties of President. Nominations were: Co-Chairs; Donna Chapman, Donna Lundmark and Marge Himber. 1st Vice, Cheryl Vanco; Treasurer Carol Eckert; Secretary Muriel Redick; Sunshine Linda Feather and Brandi Weidemann and Historian Linda Feather. All were approved and installation will be Dec. 8. Please send any club news clippings to Linda. The speaker was Louise Dyer, Master Gardener who gave a presentation on “The 3 Sisters” — a time honored method of Native Americans planting of corn, beans and squash.

Bridge results

Pat Fincher and Shelley Dahlie came in first on Monday evening at the YMCA while Lynn Way and Richard Woodruff were second. At the Allegheny Community Center Tuesday afternoon, Peggy Morgan and Marjorie Polito were first and second. Linda Jensen placed first Thursday afternoon at the Woman’s Club and Connie Lucia was second. On Friday afternoon at the Conewango Club, Connie Michell came in first with Phyllis Broadbent in second. Plans are underway for the Bridge Marathon in January. To register your partnership, please call the Woman’s Club at 723-5910.

Retiree breakfast

The National Forge Retirees Breakfast will be on Tuesday, Nov. 9, at 9 a.m. at Station 61 in Youngsville.

Fair board to meet

The Warren County Fair Annual Meeting and election of fair board directors will be held on Saturday, Nov. 20, at 8 p.m. in the 4-H building on the Warren County Fairgrounds. A review of the 2021 fair, along with the election of 7 directors for a three-year term will take place. Nominees include incumbents Steve Carr, Linda Fehrenbach, Tyler Lowe, Jeff Rulander, John Sidon and Bill Ward. Other nominees include Kelly Giltinan, Todd Lake, Carrie Ludwick and Kiley Spicer.

Service at Soldiers and Sailors Park

There will be a Veterans Day service at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, at Soldiers and Sailors Park in Warren. State Rep. Kathy Rapp will be the keynote speaker and Eric Jones will read the Gettysburg Address. There will be a luncheon to follow at the Warren American Legion Post No. 135.

Celebration is Saturday

The Marine Corps League Pendleton Detachment of Warren County will celebrate the Marine Corps birthday at 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, at the Marine Corps League Club House. Food and drinks will be provided.
