Blood drive set at hospital

Donating blood one time can save the lives of three people.

“One in every seven people will need blood products at some point in their life,” according to a Community Blood Bank release from Community Relations Specialist Erin Tighe. “A constant flow of donors is vital to maintaining an adequate blood supply. You never know when you or someone you love may be impacted by the need for blood.”

There is need locally for types O and A blood in particular, but all types are in demand, Tighe said.

Community Blood Bank is holding a drive from noon to 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, at Warren General Hospital.

Appointments are recommended and may be scheduled by calling Mobile Drive Coordinator Shari Jerman at (814) 688-3696. Walk-ins are accepted as space allows.

“Everyone who donates in the month of November with Community Blood Bank will automatically be entered to win a Peloton exercise bike and a 6-month subscription to the Peloton app,” Tighe said. “Winner will be drawn Dec. 1, 2021.”
