Class to meet

The Warren High School Class of 1957 will meet on Saturday, Sept. 18, for lunch at Pellegrino’s Italian Market, 449 Conewango Ave. at 12:30 p.m.

Retirees to meet

National Forge retirees will meet for breakfast today at Station 61 at 9 a.m.

Bridge results

Sherry Griffiths took first and Connie Michell finished second on Tuesday afternoon at the Allegheny Community Center. Susan Swab placed first Thursday afternoon at the Woman’s Club with Bill Massa coming in second. There is still time to reserve space by calling (814) 723-5910 for the refresher course being offered at the Woman’s Club beginning September 27 at 10 a.m.

Photo contest deadline approaching

The deadline to enter the second annual Warren County Conservation District Photo Contest is 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 17. Photos must be dropped off at the WCCD office at 4000 Conewango Ave. Proper entries are matted 8-by-10 prints. The entrant’s name, address, phone number, email, place the photo was taken – must be in Warren County — and category must be listed on the back of the photo. The cost to enter a photo if $2. Blood drives scheduled

There are two blood drives scheduled for next week in northern Warren County to help drive up Community Blood Bank’s supply. Community Blood Bank is actively recruiting new donors to join those who give regularly to help stabilize the blood supply. Drives will be held from 4:30 to 9 p.m. Monday, Sept. 13, at Lander Fire Department, 466 Route 957, and from 3 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15, at Sugar Grove Fire Department, 11 Wilson St. Walk-ins are accepted, but appointments are recommended to reduce wait time and may be made by calling Kathy at (716) 450-0376.

Church to host chicken dinner drive-through

Russell United Methodist Church will host a drive-through barbecue chicken dinner starting at 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18. Dinner includes homemade macaroni salad, baked beans, and dessert. The recommended donation is $10.

WCCC to host open house

Warren County Career Center will hold an open house for all of the programs housed within its walls from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15. The open house includes the career centers programs, the Strive Program, Virtual Services, and the STEM lab. Students and teachers will introduce the programs to visitors. About 40 education and employment vendors will participate in the event.
