Reunion scheduled

A reunion has been scheduled for all former Struthers Wells employees and their families. The event is set for Sat., Sept. 18 at 1 p.m. at the Starbrick VFD. Cost will be $15.90 per person which includes food as well as the cost of the hall rental. Attendees are encouraged to bring photos as well as their stories and are asked to RSVP via phone or text to Lisa Hoag Card at (814) 688-8230 no later than August 15. Organizers emphasize that spouses and children of deceased former employees are also encouraged to attend.

Lane closure announced

The Forest Service has announced that a portion of Longhouse Scenic Drive will be reduced to one lane travel due to a “small subsidence” or sinking of a portion of the road four miles north of Rt. 321. Longhouse Scenic Drive and all adjacent recreation sites remain open. “We apologize to our visitors for the inconvenience on Longhouse Scenic Drive and encourage travelers to drive safely as we plan repairs to the road,” Bradford District Ranger Rich Hatfield said.
