Unemployment comp town hall

The Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry will host an unemployment compensation virtual town hall from 1 to 2 p.m. today. “Pennsylvanians can ask questions directly to unemployment compensation experts during the … live virtual town hall. The event will feature information about regular unemployment compensation (UC) and other federal COVID-19-related benefits programs.”

“A livestream will be online at https://access.live/PAlabor. Those without internet access can listen by calling 1-833-380-0719, however access is limited so we ask that they be reserved for individuals who need them.”

Harvest Food Bank Share is Friday

There will be a Second Harvest Food Bank Military Share distribution starting at 2:45 p.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot. It will be a drive-through event. Those participating are asked to stay in their vehicles.

Fireworks display is canceled

The fireworks display and celebration sponsored by R.O.A.R., the Revitalization of Akeley-Russell, scheduled for Sept. 5 at Larimer Park has been canceled. Join R.O.A.R. on May 29 for its Pine Grove Days 2021 celebration and fireworks.

Greenways Block Grant apps due

The Northwest Commission, in cooperation with the Department of Environmental Protection and DCNR is offering another round of the Greenways Block Grant Program to the region. Applications will be accepted for the 2019C funding round through Friday, Aug. 14, at 4 p.m. Funding will only consider DCNR-qualified projects. Grant requests must not exceed $25,000 and require a local match of 50% total project cost. The 2019 Guidelines and Application are available on the Commission’s Greenways page or contact Jennifer Feehan, economic development manager, at jenniferf@northwestpa.org, for more information.

Services to meet

The Warren County Fire Services will meet at the Warren City Fire station today at 7 p.m. There will be no meal just a meeting.
