Sylvania picnic has been canceled
The Osram Sylvania PMP/SMO picnic held annually in September has been canceled for 2020.
Pleasant Twp. Cancels recycling
Pleasant Township will no longer offer recycling after Aug. 10, due to cost and misuse of the recycling bins.
Residents may contact their waste management providers regarding disposal of materials.
Questions about recycling programs may be addressed to the Warren County commissioners.
Township sets cleanup day
Pleasant Township will hold a cleanup day from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, at the municipal building, 8 Chari Lane.
Prohibited items include: household garbage; shingles and other roofing; tires; electronics; and hazardous materials including chemicals, biohazards, paints, and thinners.
Car batteries, scrap metal, and used motor oil will be accepted and will be collected separately. Gases and chemicals must be removed from refrigerators, air conditioners, and dehumidifiers.
The cost to dispose of materials is: $10 per car, $15 per pickup truck, and $25 for any vehicle larger than a pickup.
The service is available to township residents and drivers licenses will be checked.
Firefighters from the Pleasant Township Volunteer Fire Department will assist with the drop-off and accept donations.
