Photo submitted to Times Observer Officer Scott Neiswonger and K9 Nic recently came to a den meeting with some Lions and Bears in Cub Scout Pack 13 at North Warren Fire Department. The Scouts learned about Nic’s care, what police dog’s like Nic do, and even got to see some of his skills. Officer Scott Neiswonger and Nic are with the Conewango Township Police Department. Nic began patrolling in November of 2018. Cub Scout Pack 13 is chartered by the North Warren Fire Department, with Cubmaster Judith Ziolkowski.
Basket raffle
The Irvine Presbyterian Church will hold a basket bonanza raffle from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, April 7. There are a number of baskets with a range of values. Tickets are available from church members. Drawings for the baskets and the door prize will take place at 5:30 p.m. Proceeds benefit the church. Boy Scout Troop 22 will have food and drinks available. 4-H Extreme Engineers
April 6-14 is National Robotics Week, a perfect time to let everyone know about 4-H Extreme Engineers. Twice a month from February through early June, the club meets at the Penn State Extension Office in Youngsville. Using the Ev3 LEGO curriculum, the club works on building and programming robots to meet many challenges, such as lifting things and opening gates.
Members elected officers to help the group learn and practice parliamentary procedure:

On June 2, the 4-H Extreme Engineers will meet for the final time this year to present what members have learned to judges. The club calls this the Round-Up.

The Warren County Historical Society has announced the organization’s 2019-2020 board of directors. The Warren County Historical Society Board of Directors uphold the mission of the organization while promoting interest in Warren County history and preserving the county’s heritage for the education and enjoyment of present and future generations. The Warren County Historical Society Board members are elected to serve a three-year term and may be re-elected for an additional three-year term, serving a maximum of six consecutive years. The board is responsible for creating a greater understanding of the historical society’s mission and goals, determining the overall governing policies, ensuring the acquisition of adequate resources, and enhancing the society’s image within the community. The Warren County Historical Society Board of Directors assembles the last Tuesday of the month at 4 p.m. These meetings are open to the public. The Warren County School District has announced the schedule for intruder (lockdown) drills in April.
Drills will be held at all district buildings.
The schedule is:

Class lunch
