Officers take Warren man into custody after standoff in Glade Twp.
A brief standoff occurred Monday as local and federal authorities attempted to take a Warren man wanted for “absconding on his supervised release” into custody.
Timothy A. Cope, Jr., 33, was arrested by members of the Warren County Drug Task Force, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office and Homeland Security Investigations shortly after 2:30 p.m.
“Information was obtained that Cope Jr. was at 16 Woodberry Lane in the Glade Township area of Warren County,” Tom Kibbey, chief county detective, explained.
Agents and deputies initially placed Ryan English into custody in the front yard of the residence. Kibbey said English “was also wanted.”
“Cope Jr. was inside the residence,” he explained. “Several commands were given for Cope to surrender. After approximately 25 minutes, Cope Jr. did surrender himself with the threat of K9 Dina being sent into the residence.”
Kibbey said that Cope is wanted “for absconding on his supervised release related to numerous criminal dockets within Warren County to include burglary, retail theft and possession of controlled substances.”
He also said that Cope allegedly cut an ankle monitor off and removed a drug patch, conditions of his supervised release.
