The tornado threat that was evident before noon Wednesday has diminished in Chautauqua County, according to the National Weather Service, and the warning was canceled.

However, damaging winds remain likely and a Severe Thunderstorm Warning remains in effect for the area. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 9 p.m. for Western New York and Warren County, Pa.
