Pennsylvania State Police are investigating remains found at the Tidioute Overlook site.

The Tidioute Overlook has been closed for days and reports have been swirling on social media that it was due to an investigation into possible human remains.

PSP Troop E Public Information Officer Cynthia Shick confirmed the closure was at police request to investigate bones found in the area.

“The investigation is still ongoing and they are working with an anthropology team to determine what kind of bones were found,” Shick said.

There is no indication of how long determination will take or if the remains are human.

The overlook would normally close in late November.
