The Third Ave. Bridge in Warren will be closed Wednesday for preventative maintenance work.

This will be the first of three closures in the coming weeks as City of Warren Department of Public Works crews apply linseed oil to the concrete.

Joe Reinke, DPW superintendent, said the application is done every three years and basically works as a sealant for the concrete.

The Fifth Ave. Bridge and Hickory St. Bridge will follow in the coming weeks. Specific dates aren’t yet set for those closures.

The Third Ave. Bridge, Reinke said, is up first to ensure that it’s done before the start of the school year.
