Weather siren exercise planned Thursday
It’s going to get loud in some areas of Warren County on Thursday.
“We will be setting off the weather sirens 9 a.m. Thursday, April 22, in conjunction with the state weather exercise as we have in the past,” Warren County Director of Public Safety Ken McCorrison said.
“Each year, the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) conducts two hazardous weather exercises — in the spring and fall/winter — to provide an opportunity for all Commonwealth Preparedness stakeholders to examine, test, and validate their emergency operations plans (EOPs), emergency response, and recovery capabilities,” according to a release from the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
