Body found in Allegheny River

Police and firefighters responded to reports of a body found in the Allegheny River Sunday afternoon.

“We were notified by a fisherman of a possible body in the water,” Conewango Twp. police officer Charlie Andersen said.

Police said no further details would be released until identification and notifications were made.

Agencies on the scene include Conewango Township Police, Pennsylvania State Police, Warren County DA’s office, Warren County coroner’s office, Starbrick Volunteer Fire Department, and Glade Fire Department.

Search and rescue crews are on the north side of the river from the Irvine Distribution Center.
