“He was filled with compassion… gleaming with inspiration.”

“Our brother would do anything to help you.”

A Police Memorial honoring Erie County Probation Officer Colten ‘Colt’ Brown was held Saturday morning at Oakland Cemetery.

Brown, a Warren County native, died Jan. 6, 2021, of complications about three weeks after contracting COVID-19. He was 24.

Brown was laid to rest and a funeral service was held on Saturday, Jan. 16.

Warren County Sheriff Brian Zeybel, who worked with Brown’s brother, Cody, for years in the Warren County District Attorney’s Office, said he wanted to provide Colt with a “proper law enforcement send-off.”

Zeybel coordinated with officers and departments in Erie and Warren counties to make the proper arrangements.

The Police Memorial included a procession of about 20 marked vehicles from many departments in the two counties and many other vehicles, including those of family and friends, and unmarked law enforcement vehicles.
