A Warren man is in Warren County jail accused of raping a child.
Richard D. Barrett, 54, of Conewango Avenue Extension, is charged with rape of a child, statutory sexual assault - 11 years older, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with child, sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault -- complainant less than 13 years old, indecent assault -- complainant less than 13 years old, two counts of corruption of minors, and indecent exposure.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, Pennsylvania State Police were notified in November by Warren Forest Children and Youth Services of a possible sexual assault.
The alleged victim, who was less than 10 years old at the time of the alleged assaults, was interviewed at the Warren County Children’s Advocacy Center the next day, according to the affidavit.
