39 new COVID cases reported in Warren County

There were 39 new cases of COVID-19 in Warren County announced on Thursday.

That is the highest single-day total since Sept. 21 and puts the county at 318 so far in October.

At the current rate, this month would be the second highest so far in terms of new cases. In the county, there were 1,171 cases in December, 547 in January, and 535 in September.

Of the 3,688 total county cases, 2,935 are confirmed and 753 are probables, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

Warren County remains an area of high community transmission, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Percent positivity was 23.24 over 796 tests administered in the week ending Oct. 10.

There have been 117 county deaths attributed to the virus.

There were seven fewer people who were partially vaccinated in Thursday’s report (2,364) compared to Wednesday’s (2,371) and 25 more fully vaccinated (15,412 to 15,387). So far, 321 county residents (up 15) have received a booster dose.
