2 new COVID cases reported by state health department

For the first time, Warren County had multiple reports of new cases of COVID-19 on the same day.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported two new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, both in the probable category.

The two cases on Friday brought the county’s total to nine.

The first case was identified on March 24. Until Friday, new cases were added one at a time on May 13, May 20, June 3, June 4, and June 30. The first COVID-related death of a county resident was reported on July 2, bringing the total number of cases to seven.

The reported death of a resident did not happen in the county, according to county officials. Cases and deaths are reported by the Department of Health by place of residence, not where the case was identified or the death occurred.
