PENNSYLVANIA STATE POLICE
— FARMINGTON TOWNSHIP — An Erie man escaped injury after a crash at 11:43 a.m. Monday. Pennsylvania State Police at Warren said Derek Dine, 35, was traveling south on Miller Hill Road and drifted toward the right side of the road, and swerved to miss striking a mailbox. He then over corrected and went off the right side of the road and struck a ditch. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene. He was seen by EMS personnel and declined transport to the hospital. Dine was wearing their seat belt at the time of the crash.
— SHEFFIELD — Before 5 p.m. Wednesday, a vehicle was traveling east on State Route 6 and collided with a deer with its front end. The vehicle would drive a little further east on Route 6 before the operator, Sarah Jepson, 33, of Sheffield, observed smoke coming from the engine block area and pulled over. Pennsylvania State Police were assisted on scene by Rarey’s Auto Service and Sheffield VFD.
— PINE GROVE — Three Warren individuals were involved in a crash at 9:07 a.m. Nov. 2.
Pennsylvania State Police said the incident occurred as the vehicle driven by Leroy Vullo, 71, was traveling north on Route 62 when Vullo began to experience a medical issue.
Vullo became incapacitated and traveled off the east side of the road striking a mailbox and a PennDOT sign.
The vehicle then re-entered the road and traveled for approximately 0.4 miles before entering the southbound lane and striking a vehicle driven by Jerry Come, 68. Both vehicles sustained disabling damage.
Vullo sustained severe injuries while his passenger, Dororthy Rounds, 80, was uninjured. Come sustained suspected moderate injuries.
Vullo was flown via Stat Medevac to UPMC Chautauqua while Come was taken via ambulance to Warren General Hospital. Troopers were assisted at the scene by EmergyCare, Stat Medevac, Pine Grove VFD and Koebley’s Towing.
— GLADE TOWNSHIP — A fallen tree led to an accident at 2:20 p.m. Oct. 31.
Douglas Ackley, 61, of Russell was traveling west on Hatch Run Road when a tree fell into the road. Ackley was unable to avoid collision and ultimately struck the tree. He was able to drive until pulling off the road at a safe location. The vehicle sustained disabling damage. Troopers were assisted at the scene by Glade Township VFD and Koebley’s Towing.
— BROKENSTRAW TOWNSHIP — A teenager was charged after an accident on State Route 6 near National Forge Road. Troopers report Jameson B. Dyne of Corry lost control of his vehicle for an unknown reason, striking the guide rail in the median of the highway around 1 p.m. Nov. 2. He was transported by ambulance to the hospital for treatment of injuries.
— DEERFIELD TOWNSHIP — Two deer caused an accident involving a Tidioute man. Troopers report John A King Jr., 63, was traveling northbound on Althom Road when the deer came off the bank at roadside, and into the path of his vehicle. King attempted to take evasive action to miss hitting the deer, lost control of the vehicle, and struck a tree on the east side of the road. No injuries were reported as a result of the crash.
— CLARENDON BOROUGH — Troopers are seeking the public’s assistance after the theft of scrap metal on Brown Road on Nov. 2. This incident occurred as an unknown suspect cut two welding leads and stole the welding leads from the victim’s property. The incident occurred between 11 p.m. Nov. 2 and 9 a.m. Nov. 3. If anyone has any information regarding this incident, please contact PSP Warren or Warren County Crime Stoppers. Investigation is pending.
