Spring Creek man behind bars after assault
Warren-based Pennsylvania State Police have arrested a Spring Creek teenager in the wake of an assault that saw him threaten to kill his mother and then heavily damage a family vehicle.
Troopers were dispatched on Tuesday shortly after 2:30 p.m. to a Miles Run Road address for a report of an active domestic dispute.
According to a statement from state police, the son, identified as Jonah Kirkpatrick, 19, was “upset because he was fighting with his girlfriend.”
Troopers say Kirkpatrick was throwing things around his bedroom when his mother came to ask what was wrong. Troopers allege that Kirkpatrick “jumped across his bed and grabbed a pocket knife from his nightstand. He held it above his head and stated ‘I’m going to kill you!’ while looking at his mom.”
Kirkpatrick then allegedly threw the knife under the bed and ran out of the house, fleeing on a four-wheeler.
“Approximately five minutes later,” police say, “he returned on the four-wheeler and rammed into his parents Chevrolet Suburban with it. He then proceeded to take a sledge hammer from the garage and smashed out three windows on the vehicle and also put large dents in the hood and front fenders.”
Troopers say he tried to gain access to the house but his mother would not let him in.
Online court records show that Kirkpatrick was charged with terroristic threats, criminal mischief – damage property, simple assault and harassment.
He was arraigned by District Judge Todd Woodin on Tuesday and placed in the county jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.
