A Warren County woman is charged with aggravated assault after a car-vs.-skid steer crash.

Kristin R. Ross, 31, of Pittsfield, faces charges of aggravated assault and DUI related to alleged incidents from Wednesday.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, Ross was driving west on Route 6 in Pittsfield at about 8:40 p.m. when her vehicle rear-ended a skid steer that was also driving west.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, the skid steer was “launched across the left side of the roadway, over the guide rail, and down an embankment.”

The driver, Dennis DeVore, was taken to Corry Memorial Hospital and subsequently to UPMC Hamot for treatment of serious head trauma, according to police.

Police said Ross “showed obvious signs of impairment.”

“Ross stated she started drinking” at about 7 p.m., then left the establishment at about 8 p.m., having “consumed approximately five shots,” according to the affidavit.

Ross was arraigned Thursday before District Judge Daniel Miller and taken to Warren County jail after failing to post $25,000.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 19.
