Russell man jailed as search nets signs of meth deals
Agents of the Warren County Drug Task Force search a Russell house Thursday evening where meth deals were suspected of taking place.
Agents made entry into the 6 Brenda Lane house shortly after 8:45 p.m. Thursday.
Michael W. Brant, 45, of Russell, was arraigned Friday and was taken to Warren County jail, accused of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
He failed to post $100,000 bail.
An ongoing investigation led agents to the residence.
After making entry, agents took Brant into custody and conducted a search of the premises, according to Warren County Chief Detective Tom Kibbey.
They were looking for signs of methamphetamine sales.
The search results backed up the other parts of the investigation, Kibbey said Friday. “We recovered paraphernalia indicative of the sales and distribution of methamphetamine.”
Brant faces one felony count of Possession with Intent to Deliver, one felony count of Criminal Use of a Communications Facility, and three misdemeanor counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
