A pick-up truck crashed into and damaged a North Warren building on Tuesday after a two-vehicle crash on Route 62.

According to Conewango Township Police, Barbara Bailey, 82, of Warren, pulled her car out of the Kwik Fill into the outside southbound lane of Route 62 shortly after 1 p.m. Tuesday into the path of a truck driven by Leo Hayes, 76, of Lewis Run.

“Hayes attempted to swerve around Bailey to his left prior to impact but was unsuccessful,” police said. “After initial impact, both vehicles traveled into the north entrance of West Penn Oil where Hayes’ vehicle impacted and came to rest against the building… causing structural damage. Bailey’s vehicle came to rest against a utility pole.”

Bailey was taken by EmergyCare to Warren General Hospital for evaluation. Both Hayes and a front seat passenger refused treatment at the scene.

North Warren Volunteer Fire Department and North Warren Fire Police assisted at the scene.
