Warrant issued for sex offender who did not register address change

State police are looking for a registered sex offender who failed to file his latest address.

Jose J. Reyna, 59, last known address Hyde Road, but believed to be living in Erie, is charged with failure to comply with registration of sexual offender requirements.

A felony warrant has been issued for Reyna, according to Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Jeff Osborne. “He is believed to be in the City of Erie. That warrant was transferred out to Erie.”

Reyna was convicted of indecent assault and served time in jail in Erie County. He is a 10-year Megan’s Law registrant.

“He was released around the 4th of May,” Osborne said.

When Reyna was released, he went to a half-way house on Hyde Road, Spring Creek Township, Osborne said. He registered his address there, but did not stay.

“Because he’s a sexual offender, they couldn’t keep him there,” Osborne said.

Osborne said Reyna went to the Erie City Mission, but did not register his address there and walked out.

Reyna had three days to register a new address. He did not.

“He’s in violation of a Megan’s Law requirement,” Osborne said.

Anyone with information about Reyna’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Warren barracks, any Pennsylvania State Police barracks, or Warren County Crime Stoppers.
