Meth found after Jamestown stop

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — A Jamestown man is facing several charges, including violating Leandra’s Law and criminal possession of a controlled substance following a traffic stop Thursday night in the city.

Police stopped a vehicle, driven by 31-year-old Felix J. Rodriguez Gomez, at 8:15 p.m. on West 11th and North Main streets for an alleged traffic violation. Gomez was found to be operating the vehicle while impaired due to drugs with a 13-year-old passenger.

He was transported to Jamestown City Jail, where police found to be in possession of a large amount of heroin that was packaged consistent with drug trafficking.

Gomez was awaiting arraignment on charges of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, DWI-drugs, felony DWI (Leandra’s Law), endangering the welfare of a child and numerous traffic violations.
