Warren

Careless driving. Warren City Police reported that Timothy Hause, Warren, was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic and careless driving after a one-vehicle accident on Jan. 24. According to police, Hause reportedly fell asleep at the wheel, crossed the center line and came to rest on the opposite curb blocking the southbound lane of Conewango Avenue.

Careless driving. Warren City Police reported that on Jan. 24 Priscilla Meadows, Warren, was cited for careless driving after she drove into a parked vehicle.

Retail theft. Warren City Police reported that on Jan. 22 Kelly Wadsworth, Warren, was cited for retail theft after a report was made that she left a local business with concealed merchandise that she did not pay for.

Indecent assault. Warren City Police reported that on Jan. 21 David Baca, 49, Warren, was charged with two counts of indecent assault after an investigation revealed he had inappropriate contact with a known female.

Forgery. Warren City Police reported that on Jan. 25 Dustyn McCleary, Warren, was charged with forgery, five counts of theft by deception and criminal attempt after scamming three victims out of $2,500. Police said he also allegedly forged a check on one of the victim’s checking accounts. Police said a warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Underage drinking. Warren City Police reported that on Jan. 20 a juvenile female was charged after she was found to be in possession of several alcoholic beverages.

Public drunkenness. Warren City Police reported that on Jan. 21 William Ohmer, Warren, was charged with public drunkenness after officers were called to a local business for a report that he was kicking and pulling on every street sign he passed.

Disorderly conduct. Warren City Police reported that on Jan. 22 Matthew Dunn, Youngsville, and Sarah Munch, Warren, and a female juvenile were charged with disorderly conduct after police were called to Munch’s residence on a report of loud noises.

Harassment. Warren City Police reported that on Jan. 17 Dorothy Campbell and Francis Struble, both of Warren, were charged with harassment after officers were dispatched to a domestic dispute at their residence.

Crash. Warren City Police reported that Betty Renninger, Clarendon, was cited for driving vehicle at safe speed following a one-vehicle accident where she lost control of her vehicle on Conewango Avenue near Willoughby Street on Jan. 25.

Limestone Twp.

Theft. Warren-based state police reported that between Nov. 10, 2012 and Jan. 27, someone took a propane tank from a Gully Lane property belonging to James Gulakowski, Indiana, Pa. Estimated value is approximately $110. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police.

Mead Twp.

Propulsion of missiles. Warren-based state police reported that at 1:50 p.m. Tuesday someone threw an object at the windshield of a vehicle owned by Tilaro’s Bakery, Jamestown N.Y. Police said the incident happened on Route 6 and damage is estimated at $100. Anyone with informaion is asked to contact the state police.

Pine Grove Twp.

Crash. Warren-based state police responded to a one-vehicle accident at 5:51 p.m. Monday on Priest Hollow Road just east of Cole Hill Road. According to police, Thomas Ludwiszewski, Russell, lost control of a 2004 Jeep Liberty on the slush-covered roadwayswhile attempting to make a left-hand curve. Police said the vehicle began sliding eastbound before leaving the roadway and entering a small ditch. Ludwiszewski attempted to regain control of the vehicle while in the ditch, but failed to do so. Police said the vehicle continued to slide eastbound along the ditch before hitting a tree. Ludwiszewski sustained a minor leg injury and opted to seek treatment on his own. Police said he was not charged. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

Sheffield Twp.

Crash. Warren-based state police responded to a one-vehicle accident at 11:20 a.m. Monday on Route 6. Police said Cassandra Doougherty, Kane, was westbound on Route 6 and lsot control of the 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt on the slushy roadway and the vehicle started to spin counter-clockwise. Police said the vehicle traveled through the eastbound lane and off the south berm where the passenger side of the vehicle hit a tree, stopping the vehicle. Dougherty sustained minor injuries in the crash. Police said she was not charged.

Conewango Twp.

Retail theft. Conewango Township Police were called to the North Warren Walmart on Jan. 24 at 2 p.m. According to police, Walmart loss prevention personnel stopped Tina Kennedy, 30, Jamestown, N.Y., after she left the store with $57.02 worth of clothing that she failed to pay for. Police said Kennedy was cited for retail theft.

Crash. Conewango Township Police responded to the scene of a one-vehicle accident involving Andrea Atkins, 59, Warren, on Jan. 23 at 7:55 a.m. on the northeast corner of Route 62 at the intersection of Route 69. According to police, the crash occurred as Atkins was distracted and drove off the roadway to her right, striking a cross walk post and telephone pole. No one was injured and Atkins’ vehicle had to be towed from the scene. Police said Atkins was cited for roadways laned for traffic.

Theft. Conewango Township Police were called to the North Warren Walmart on Dec. 17 at 1 p.m. According to police, Walmart loss prevention personnel found Lorie Campbell, 38, Warren, taking a $100 bill from the cash office. An internal investigation was conducted and police charged Campbell with theft by unlawful taking.

Pittsfield Twp.

Theft. Warren-based state police are investigating the Jan. 27 theft of several automobile rims and aluminum race car rims from a salvage yard owned by Robert Scott of Pittsfield. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police or Warren County Crime Stoppers.

Warren

Perjury/false swearing. Warren-based state police said at 10 a.m. on Jan. 22 at a traffic hearing Adrian C. Jewell, 45, Pittsfield, perjured himself under oath. Police said he was arraigned before District Justice Glenn Carlson on charges of perjury and false swearing.

Cherry Grove Twp.

Burglary. Warren-based state police investigated a burglary which occurred between 5 p.m. on Jan. 23 and 1 p.m. on Jan. 24, in the area of Cherry Grove Road. According to police, someone broke the padlock on the door of a workshop belonging to Robert Goldthwaite, 28, and stole a Hobart mig welder, a gas tank, a self-darkening welding helmet, a Husqvarna 450 Rancher chainsaw, one can of gasoline and a jug of oil, with a total estimated value of $1,625. Anyone with information is asked to call the state police or Crime Stoppers.

Conewango Twp.

Harassment. Warren-based state police investigated an incident of harassment which occurred at 8:30 a.m. on Jan. 23 at Warren State Hospital’s Center Building. According to police, a known female patient assaulted two known female employees, causing injury. Charges of harassment were filed through District Justice Laura Bauer’s office.

Accident. Warren-based state police responded to a one-vehicle accident at 2:18 p.m. Jan. 26 on Route 6, 1,329 feet east of Scientific Road in Starbrick. According to police, Michael Knapp, 41, Irvine, was westbound on Route 6 and was in the left lane, attempting to pass another vehicle when he lost control of his 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt when negotiating a left-hand curve. Police said Knapp’s vehicle spun clockwise and traveled off the north side of the road, striking an embankment with the rear of the vehicle. Knapp’s vehicle then overturned and came to rest on its roof. Police said Knapp was charged with safe speed. Starbrick volunteer firefighters assisted at the scene.

Hit and run. Conewango Township police said an unidentified vehicle was northbound on Market Street at approximately 9 a.m. Jan. 24 when it crossed over the median striking several medial markers and a road sign, then turned into the southbound lanes and fled south toward the City of Warren. Police said the vehicle is dark green and missing parts of the fender. Anyone with information is asked to contact the township police at 726-072.

Harassment. Warren-based state police said Danielle Coudriet, a patient at Warren State Hospital, was charged with two counts of harassment following an incident at 8:20 a.m. Jan. 24 at WSH’s Center Building. According to police, Coudriet assaulted two female staff members, scratching both victims. Police said charges were filed through District Justice Laura Bauer’s office.

Farmington Twp.

DUI. Warren-based state police reported that at 8:41 p.m. on Jan 23 in the area of Wilson Road and its intersection with Lanning Hill Road Scott Simmons, 36, Warren, failed to stop at a stop sign and drove off the roadway, and his vehicle became stuck in the snow. Police said Simmons was found to be under the influence of alcohol and was subsequently arrested for DUI. Charges are pending.

Crash. Warren-based state police responded to a one-vehicle accident at 6:20 p.m. Jan. 25 on Route 957 west of Fairbanks Road. According to police, Joe Travis was westbound on Route 957 and an unidentified eastbound vehicle forced Travis to move over so the two vehicles could pass. Police said Travis’ vehicle dropped onto the berm during the pass; he lost control trying to bring his vehicle back onto the road, crossed the eastbound lane and struck a ditch. Police said the other vehicle continued without stopping.

Glade Twp.

Accident. Warren-based state police responded to a one-vehicle accident at 12:30 a.m. Jan. 25 on Fifth Avenue Ext., approximately one-tenth of a mile west of Allen Lane. According to police, Theresa Moore, 46, Warren, was eastbound on Fifth Avenue Ext. when she lost control of her 2001 Dodge Intrepid while rounding a right-hand curve, crossed the westbound lane and went off the westbound berm. Police said her vehicle continued down an embankment and struck a tree. Police said Moore was cited for safe speed.

Accident. Warren-based state police responded to a one-vehicle accident at 6 a.m. Jan. 26 on Page Hollow Road, north of Chapman Road. According to police, Scott Johnson, 21, Warren, was southbound on Page Hollow Road, lost control of his 2001 Ford Ranger, traveled off the west side of the road and struck a tree. Police said Johnson was arrested for being under the influence of alcohol.

Pine Grove Twp.

Crash. Warren-based state police investigated a crash which occurred at 8:35 a.m. on Jan. 25 on Old Russell Road, 787 feet south of an unnamed street. According to police, a 2000 Buick Regal, operated by Ty Christensen, 19, Warren, was traveling south on Akeley Road and was negotiating a left-hand curve when he lost traction and traveled off the southern berm. After leaving the roadway, the front of the vehicle struck a tree and spun in a counter-clockwise direction off the southern berm, striking a wooden fence, and coming to rest facing east. Police said Christensen was charged with driving vehicle at safe speed. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

Hit and run. Nancy Schwanke, Greenbriar Circle, Russell, reported to Warren-based state police that between 4:30 and 6:45 p.m. Jan. 24 an unknown vehicle left the roadway and struck her mailbox, then left the scene. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police or Warren County Crimestoppers.

Pittsfield Twp.

Crash. Warren-based state police investigated a crash which occurred at 7:40 a.m. on Jan. 24, on Miles Run Road, 394 feet west of Route 6. According to police, a crash occurred when a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan, operated by Austin Peters, 18, Spring Creek, was traveling east and attempted to negotiate a left curve on the snow-covered roadway causing his car to travel 120 feet off the southern berm before striking a tree. Police said after impact, the car spun 33 feet in a clockwise direction, coming to rest facing south along the berm. Police said Peters was charged with driving vehicle at safe speed.

Pleasant Twp.

Endangering welfare of children. Warren-based state police reported that between 10:45 a.m. and 12:03 p.m. on Jan. 4, Barbara L. Sullivan, 48, Warren, was providing care for a two-year-old female child, who sustained a serious injury. Police said Sullivan failed to take the child for immediate medical treatment after the injury. Charges of endangering the welfare of children were filed with District Justice Glenn Carlson’s office.

Sugar Grove Twp.

Criminal mischief. Warren-based state police responded to an incident of criminal mischief on Route 69, south of Sugar Grove Borough, at 8:45 p.m. Jan. 19. According to police, a known juvenile male threw an egg at a vehicle owned by Jacob Borland, Sugar Grove, causing damage to its paint. Police said the incident is under investigation.

Youngsville

Harassment. On Monday, January 21, the Youngsville Borough Police Dept. filed harassment charges on a 13-year-old juvenile who is a resident of Youngsville. The juvenile was harassing a fellow female classmate at Youngsville Middle School during school hours.

Arrested. Christopher Cross, 30, of Youngsville, was taken into custody by Youngsville Police Officers on Jan. 23 at approx. 5:30 p.m. at his residence. Police reported that an adult female victim was allegedly threatened with bodily harm by Cross at his residence in the early morning hours as she was attempting to leave his apartment. Police arraigned Cross in Marienville, and he was placed in Warren Co. Jail on $15,000 bail awaiting court proceedings.

Brokenstraw Twp.

Crash. Warren-based state police reported that at 5:15 p.m. on Jan. 21 on Brown Hill Road, north of Indian Camp Run Road, a crash occurred when a 2004 Ford Windstar driven by Erin L. Shenk, Youngsville, was traveling south when she lost control on the snow-covered road while atempting to make a right-hand curve. Police said her vehicle traveled off the east side of the road and struck a tree. The vehicle was towed from the scene. Police said Shenk, along with a seven-year-old passenger, received minor injuries as a result of the crash.

Sheffield Twp.

Possession. Warren-based state police reported that on Dec. 20 at 2:30 p.m. staff with Warren/Forest Child and Youth Services were at the residence of Chantilly Lane Thomas, Sheffield, for an unscheduled check of the residence. Police said upon entering the residence, the synthetic drug K2 (marijuana) was observed on the kitchen table. Police were contacted and Thomas was charged with simple possession and possession of paraphernalia.

Bear Lake Boro

Burglary. Corry-based state police report a burglary occurred at a Greeley Street residence sometime between Jan. 18 and Jan. 20. According to police, someone entered the victim’s residence and took the following: a wallet containing cards, a blue one-piece snow suit, black snow pants, blue quilted snow pants, and a black colored cell phone.

Conewango Twp.

Harassment. Warren-based state police were called to the Warren State Hospital on Jan. 23 at 2:40 p.m. According to police, Danielle Coudriet, 28, of N. Warren punched a 42 year old female in the arm and grabbed her by the wrist, causing scratches to the victim’s wrist. Charges of Harassment have been filed through District Justice Bauer’s office.

Hit and Run. Conewango Twp. Police report on Jan. 17 at 9:35 p.m., an unknown individual operating an older model GMC Jimmy/Chevrolet Blazer possibly dark in color traveling east on SR 6 veered off the southside of the roadway striking two guide wires and several parking signs in the Penn Dot parking lot then fled the scene. The vehicle will have front-end damage and possible driver side damage. Anyone with information is asked to contact Conewango Police at 814-726-0725.

Youngsville

Warrant Arrest. Warren County Sheriffs Deputies arrested Shannon Frederick, 39 of Youngsville, on Jan. 22 at 3:30 p.m. at her residence. She was arrested on Bench Warrants for Failure to appear for Incarceration issued by Warren County Court of Common Pleas on the original charge of DUI. She was placed in Warren County Prison pending further court action.

Found Property. Sometime in the past week, employees at Ed Shults Car Dealership in North Warren have found three Social Security Cards belonging to three different individuals as well as a Direct Express credit card, pharmacy discount cards, and other misc. cards, all of which were found in the dealership’s parking lot. Anyone missing such cards or with information please contact the Conewango Twp. Police Department.

Theft. Conewango Twp. Police report on Jan. 3 at 10:40 a.m. Michael Bonavita reported someone had taken Adderall pills belonging to his son from his residence. During the investigation, police found Melissa Moore was inside the residence as a hired cleaner and obtained the pills and converted them to her own personal use. Moore is charged with four counts Misdemeanor Theft of a Controlled Substance, four counts Misdemeanor Theft by Unlawful Taking and four counts Misdemeanor Receiving Stolen Property. All charges have been filed with District Justice Laura Bauer pending further court action.

Harassment. Warren-based state police responded to an incident at Warren State Hospital on Jan. 20 at 9:15 p.m. Non-traffic citations have been filed against Megan Decker, 22 of Mercer after she allegedly repeatedly stuck a victim in the head with a closed fist. A second victim attempted to intervene, but Decker pulled her hair and attempted to head-butt and kick her.

Eldred Twp.

Crash. Warren-based state police are investigating a crash that occurred Jan. 20 at 2:10 p.m. at the intersection of Sanford Rd. and Hunt Rd. According to police, Karl Louis, of Grand Valley, was traveling north on Sanford Rd. when he lost control of his 2002 Dodge Dakota pick-up truck on icy roadways, struck a ditch, and rolled over. The investigation continues.

Howe Twp.

Assault. Marienville-based state police are investigating an incident that occurred at Cornell Abraxas on Jan. 15 at 11 a.m. According to police, Joseph Perrin of Warren was assaulted by an 18-year-old male Abraxas client. An investigation is on-going.

Pine Grove Twp.

Bad Checks. Warren-based state police are investigating a bad check that was written on a closed account by Gary McGregor Jr. to Curtis Contracting and Services in the amount of $1000 on Jan. 6. Charges for bad check were filed in District Justice Bauer’s office.

Pittsfield Twp.

Burglary. Warren-based state police are investigating a burglary that occurred at 33022 Rt. 6, in Pittsfield that occurred between Dec. 16, 2012 and Jan. 17, 2013. According to police, unknown actor(s) entered the residence through an unlocked door and took a black, Sentry 12 x 12 lock box containing various personal items. Anyone with information is asked to contact PSP Warren or Crime Stoppers.

Sheffield Twp.

Forgery. Warren-based-state police arrested Chantilly L. Thomas, 31, after an investigation revealed Thomas filled out several checks to herself, in the name of a known victim in order to receive approximately $800. Thomas was charged with forgery and theft and was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Carlson on Jan. 18. She was released on $50,000 unsecured bail.

Sugar Grove Twp.

Crash. Warren-based state police report on Jan. 17 at 10:20 p.m., the operator of a 1998 Dodge Durango attempted to negotiate a right-hand curve on a snow covered Rt. 69 near Jones Hill Rd. when the vehicle drifted off the west side of the road. No injuries were reported and no one was injured as a result of the crash.

Brokenstraw Twp.

Lost/stolen firearm. Warren-based state police are investigating the theft of a KHAR .40SW semi-automatic firearm that occurred between Oct. 1, 2012 and Jan. 15, from an Irvine residence. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police.

Glade Twp.

Harassment. Warren-based state police are investigating an assault that occurred Jan. 16 at 9:30 a.m. at Warren Area High School. According to police, two 17-year-old males engaged in a physical altercation. Police said charges of disorderly conduct and harassment were filed on both individuals.

Harassment. Warren-based state police are investigating an assault that occurred Jan. 15 at 1:15 p.m. at Warren Area Elementary Center. According to police, a known 11-year-old male subjected a 58-year-old female to physical contact by running into her with his chest. Police said harassment charges are pending.

Deerfield Twp.

Theft. Warren-based state police reported that at 5 p.m. Tuesday David Hoffman, 61, Tidioute, allegedly cut the wire on a coyote trap belonging to Scott Lewis, 54, Tidioute, and removed it from its location. Police said Hoffman then disposed of the trap somewhere in the area of Deerfield Lane. Police said charges are pending for theft and criminal mischief through District Justice Cynthia Lindemuth’s office.

Limestone Twp.

Crash. Warren-based state police responded to a one-vehicle accident at 10 p.m. Jan. 14 on Route 62, a half mile north of Red House Hill Road. A 1995 Buick Regal driven by Jared Eisenbrown, Clarendon, was southbound was negotiating an off-set turn. Police said the vehicle drove across the oncoming lane onto the eastern berm, continued in a southeasterly direction for approximately 30 feet and struck a tree with its right front bumper. Police said the vehicle rolled toward the left as it continued in a southeasterly direction for approximately 12 feet, coming to rest on its roof facing south. Eisenbrown sustained minor injuries in the accident. Police said he was cited with careless driving.

Tidioute

Theft. The Tidioute Borough Police reported that between Jan. 14 and 15 in front of Miller’s Newstand, someone with a Pepsi pop machine key entered the pop machine and removed between $40 and $50. Police said no damage was done to the machine. Police said anyone who has an outside pop machine should remove the money daily.

Conewango Twp.

Charged. Conewango Township Police responded to Wal-Mart, North Warren, at 11:16 p.m. Jan. 11 for a reported unconscious female in the women’s restroom. Police said Walmart officials found the woman unconscious in the restroom with a can of inhalant in her hand, but she regained consciousness and left the area before police arrived. Police said they located the female a short time later in a North Warren parking lot. Police said Jada Lee Coursey, 22, 2545 Liberty St. Ext., was treated by EMS and admitted that she had been inhaling a noxious substance to become intoxicated. Police said Coursey was charged with illegal use of a noxious substance, drug paraphernalia, disorderly conduct, public intoxication and scattering rubbish on public property. Charges have been filed at District Justice Laura Bauer’s office.

Charged. Conewango Township Police said two men were charged following an incident in the parking lot at Walmart, North Warren, at 1:52 p.m. Jan. 12. According to police, Paul Shelgren, Warren, nearly backed his vehicle into a vehicle in which Kenneth Holman and Pike Stillwagon, both of 154 Railway Lane, Clarendon, were riding. Police said Shelgren got out of his vehicle and shouted at Holman and Stillwagon to move their vehicle. Police said they got out of their vehicle and began yelling obscenities at Shelgren. Police said Stillwagon struck Shelgren’s vehicle with his hand and Holman pushed Shelgren while he was sitting in the driver’s seat of his car. Police said Shelgren complained of pain in his shoulder. Police said Holman was charged with disorderly conduct and harassment; Stillwagon was charged with disorderly conduct.

Eldred Twp.

Wire down. Warren-based state police responded to the parking lot at Grand Valley Volunteer Fire Department at 3:30 p.m. on Jan. 8. According to police, a presumably large truck with dual tires attempted to exit the north driveway at the fire department and drove under a power line that stretched from a utility pole to the north side of the building. The vehicle caught the wire and pulled it from the side of the building. Police said the side of the building received moderate burn damage as a result. Police said it is presumed that the truck then backed up and drove around to the south driveway of the building, exited the parking lot and fled north on Route 27.

Youngsville

Lost property. Youngsville Borough Police said a citizen brought to their office a ring that had been found in front of Tops, Railroad Street, at approximately 4 p.m. Jan. 10. Anyone with information, or wanting to claim the ring, can contact the borough police at 563-7555.

Accident. Warren-based state police responded to a two-vehicle accident on W. Main Street at 10 a.m. Jan. 12. According to police, a 1995 Subaru Legacy, being driven by a 16-year-old male, was stopped in the westbound lane of W. Main Street, waiting to turn into the Valley Bowling Center parking lot. Police said Dane Freeborough, 21, Youngsville, was also westbound in a 1997 Cadillac and failed to stop before striking the rear of the Subaru. A 39-year-old passenger in the Subaru wasn’t injured, but an 11-year-old female in the vehicle sustained a minor injury, police said. Police said Freeborough was charged with driving vehicle at safe speed.

Warren

Charged. Warren-based state police responded to Warren Area High School at 11:20 a.m. Thursday after a known juvenile female grabbed a teacher’s arm and then pushed her. Police said once the juvenile left the room, she was escorted to the school’s office where she caused a disturbance while instruction was taking place. Police said she was charged with harassment and disorderly conduct.

Columbus Twp.

Theft. Warren-based state police reported that between sometime Jan. 6 or 7 at 1678 Scrambling Rd., a known 19-year-old male of Corry took a Pasload nail gun from a previous residence of a known 47-year-old male of Titusville. Police said the accused admitted he had taken the gun and had been using it, and had not spoken to the victim for several months. The accused admitted to having the nail gun and would return it to the victim.

Mead Twp.

Theft. Warren-based state police reported that between 2 and 7 p.m. on Jan. 6 at 6 Jones St. someone took a 2005 red Chrysler Town and Country minivan belonging to Paul Laverne Brink, Clarendon, bearing Pennsylvania registration GMD1637. Police said the van was parked in the driveway outside Brink’s residence. Anyone has any information about the incident or the whereabouts of the missing vehicle, is asked to contact the state police or Warren County Crime Stoppers.

Warren

Possession. On Jan. 4, Warren City Police charged Lacy Abraham, 26, and Jorge Garay, 27, both of Warren with possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after officers found drugs and drug paraphernalia at their residence when assisting Pennsylvania State Constables with a warrant service.

Limitations on backing. On Dec. 13, Warren City Police cited Thomas Larusch, 59, Warren, for limitations of backing after officers were called to a traffic accident where he backed out of a driveway and caused an accident.

Disorderly conduct. On Jan. 4, Warren City Police cited Steven Jenkins, 20, Warren, for disorderly conduct after officers received a report of threats being made to a victim.

Harassment. On Jan. 1, Warren City Police cited Heather Mason, 38, Mayville, N.Y., for harassment after officers were called to a domestic dispute at a local hotel.

Pine Grove

Burglary. Warren-based state police are investigating a burglary at the Russell residence of James Valone. According to police, someone entered Valone’s residence and stole prescription medications. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police or Crime Stoppers.

Tidioute

Criminal mischief/theft. Tidioute Borough Police said someone damaged a security bar and had a key to enter two pop machines at the Tidioute Firehall. According to police, the thief removed approximately $80 in one dollar bills and quarters sometime before 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6.

Sheffield Twp.

Stolen vehicle. Sheffield Township Police were called to the Sheffield Pit Stop on South Main St. on Dec. 5 at 10 p.m. for a stolen vehicle. According to police, a white Chevrolet Avalanche with Pennsylvania registration YYP8954 was left running in the parking lot. When the owner returned, the vehicle was gone. The truck is white with black panels on the bottom and Z71 on the back. The vehicle left in an unknown direction. Anyone with information is asked to contact township police at 968-5610 or Crime Stoppers.

DUI. Warren-based state police report David Clawson, 54, Ludlow, was involved in a one-vehicle accident in the area of 3680 Route 6 in Sheffield on Jan. 3 at 7:45 p.m. According to police, Clawson’s vehicle became stuck in a snow bank along the side of the road. After further investigation, it was suspected Clawson was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. He was transported to Warren General Hospital for chemical testing. Blood results determined his BAC to be above the legal limit. Police said charges against Clawson include two counts of DUI, and additional summary charges. Charges will be filed in District Justice Glenn Carlson’s office in Warren.

Conewango Twp.

Bad check. Conewango Township Police said they issued a non-traffic summary citation against Nicole Blackmon, 33, Warren, after she issued a bad check to Warren Veterinary Hospital on Aug. 4.

Bad check. Conewango Township Police said they issued a non-traffic summary citation against Corey Ackley, Kane, after he issued a bad check to Warren Veterinary Hospital on Aug. 17.

Harassment. Conewango Township Police were dispatched to a domestic dispute at 13 Cook St. at 8:01 p.m. Nov. 28. Police said Mary Ann Wolford told them that she was involved in a physical dispute with James Wolford, during which he grabbed her arm of the victim, leaving marks. Police said James Wolford has been charged with one count summary harassment which was filed at District Justice Laura Bauer’s office.

Freehold Twp.

Crash. Warren-based state police responded to a one-vehicle crash on Route 6, west of Baker Road, at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 4. According to police, Wesley Double, 37, Erie, was eastbound in a 2011 Nissan Versa, which hit a small patch of ice while negotiating a slight lefthand curve. Police said Double lost control of his vehicle, which crossed both lanes of the road, went off the north berm and struck a ditch, causing the vehicle to flip onto its roof. The vehicle continued to slide and struck a tree with its passenger-side rear bumper. Police said Double sustained a minor injury and was transported to Warren General Hospital for treatment. Police said he was not cited.

Pittsfield Twp.

Theft of a motor vehicle. Warren-based state police reported investigating a theft of motor vehicle that occurred on Dec. 14 at a residence on Miles Run Road. Police said Michelle W. Swab, 41, allegedly took the vehicle from her mother, Wanda Spires, and did not return it. Police said Spires made several unsuccessful attempts to get Swab to return the vehicle. Police said Swab was arrested for theft of a motor vehicle and arraigned in front of District Justice Glenn Carlson. She was placed in the Warren County Jail on $15,000 bail.

Sheffield Twp.

Forgery. Warren-based state police reported investigating a forgery of checks that occurred in the name of Michael Childers between Dec. 19 and 24. Police said someone filled out checks and signed the victim’s name before cashing them. The investigation continues.

Sugar Grove

Twp.

Theft. Warren-based state police reported that someone entered an unlocked police vehicle belonging to Scott Knepp, Wilson Road, Sugar Grove, and stole some medication on Jan. 2. Anyone with information is asked to call the state police or Warren County Crime Stoppers.

Warren

DUI. On Dec. 22, Warren police charged Derek Edwards, 20, of Russell, with DUI, Minor Prohibited from Operating with any Alcohol in System, Restrictions on Alcoholic Beverages, and Underage Drinking after officers responded to a report of a vehicle being driven by a suspected intoxicated male in the drive-through of a business. Ashley Evans, 19, Youngsville, Chevy Haskens, 18, Warren, and Zachary Johnson, 20, Pittsfield, were also charged with Underage Drinking after being in Edward’s vehicle.

Failure to Comply with Megan’s Law. On Dec. 23, Warren police took Stephen McMunn, 30, of Warren, into custody on a Warrant for Failure to Comply with Megan’s Law. He was transported to District Justice Gregory’s Office and was placed in the Warren County Jail on $150,000 bail. McMunn was also charged with Interference with Custody of Children and Corruption of Minors after it was found that he had a juvenile with him when he was taken into custody on the warrant. He was arraigned before District Justice G. Carlson and placed back in the Warren County jail on $20,000 bail.

False Information. On Dec. 21, Warren police charged Seth Clark, 21, of Warren, with Furnishing Law Enforcement Authority with False Information and Obstructing Administration of Law and other governmental functions after he lied to the police during the course of an investigation.

Criminal Mischief. On Dec. 23, Warren police charged Jeremy Gurdak, 23, of Erie, with Criminal Mischief to a Vehicle and Harassment after officers responded to a report of a truck having all its windows smashed out. During the investigation police also learned that he was involved in a fight with the victim prior to damaging of the truck.

Harassment. On Dec. 23, Warren police cited Aaron Kibbe, 24, Jamestown, NY, for Harassment after police were called to a local establishment where he reportedly shoved the victim after he was asked to leave.

Disorderly Conduct. On Dec. 26, Warren police cited Nathan Rounds, 22, of Warren, with Disorderly Conduct after officers were called to his residence for a report of yelling and screaming.

DUI. On Dec. 28, Warren police charged William Bennett, 32, of Warren, with DUI-Highest Rate of Alcohol (0.16+) 1st offense, DUI, Fleeing or Attempting to Elude Officers and Reckless Driving after officers witnessed a traffic accident where he crashed his car into the Allegheny River.

Corruption of Minors. On Dec 31, Warren police charged Brendan Garrett, 18, of Warren with Corruption of Minors, Selling or Furnishing Alcohol to Minors and Purchase of Alcohol by a Minor after officers came upon a suspicious vehicle. While investigating, officers determined that Garrett had given alcohol to a juvenile.

Public Drunkenness. On Jan. 1, Warren police cited Matthew Vanarsdale, 24, of Warren, for Public Drunkenness and Disorderly Conduct after officers were called to a report of a male stumbling in a parking lot wearing no shoes or socks in the snow.

Conewango Twp.

DUI. Conewango Township Police reported that on December 29, 2012 Muriel Whipple, 20, was stopped for a traffic violation in Starbrick. Further investigation revealed that the driver was under the influence of alcohol. DUI and several summary charges have been filed with District Justice Laura Bauer’s office.

Freehold Twp.

Burglary. Corry-based state police report between the dates of Jan. 31 and July 1, 2012, an unknown individual removed jewelry items from the Stoney Run Rd. residence of F. Marie Groves, 65, of Pittsfield. An investigation continues.

Barnett Twp.

Burglary. Warren-based state police reported that between 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 9 and 1 p.m. on Dec. 31 at a known male’s seasonal residence along Forest Rd., property valued at $700.00 was stolen, which included a WWI 30.06 rifle and a Remington .50 caliber muzzle loader. The Marienville Police Station is continuing to investigate the burglary. Anyone with information is asked to contact PSP Marienville at 814-927-5253.

Theft from motor vehicle. Warren-based state police reported that between 2 p.m. on Dec. 29 and 6:45 a.m. on Dec. 30 at a known male’s private residence along Cemetery Rd., property valued at $570.00 was stolen, which included a Smith & Wesson M&P 9mm pistol. The Marienville Police Station is continuing to investigate the theft. Anyone with information is asked to contact PSP Marienville at 814-927-5253.

Glade Twp.

Harassment. Warren-based state police reported that at 3 p.m. on Dec. 31 on Holly St., a known female, age 23, was cited for harassment following an incident where she walked up behind a known male, age 37, and grabbed his genitals. The accused believed it was in jest, however, the victim did not. Police did not release the woman’s name.

Pine Grove Twp.

Crash. Warren-based state police reported that at 2:40 p.m. on Dec. 30 on US62, 75 feet north of Old State Line Rd., a crash occurred, when a 2003 Chrysler Town & Country being driven by Cheryl A. Lockhart, 44, Jamestown, was traveling south on SR62. She came upon an icy and slush-covered patch of roadway and slid in a clockwise direction, as the car continued southwest leaving the roadway onto the western berm. The car struck a guide rail surrounding a ditch with its left side, then spun around in a counter-clockwise direction as it traveled west approximately 10 ft., coming to rest facing south. Lockhart had moderate injury and was transported to WCA Hospital in Jamestown. She was charged with Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic.

Pleasant Twp.

Theft/Trespass. Warren-based state police reported that between 6 a.m. on Nov. 22 and 5 p.m. on Dec. 30 on the Mohawk Ave. Ext. at Morrison Run Rd. oil well sites, an unknown person/s trespassed and stole approximately 80 pump jack weights, valued at approximately $2,500. Anyone with information is urged to contact PSP Warren Barracks or Warren County Crime Stoppers. The investigation is ongoing.

Sheffield Twp.

Harassment. Warren-based state police reported that between 4:10 and 4:15 p.m. on Dec. 30 at the Unimart parking lot at the intersection of SR666 and Austin Hill Rd., a known male, age 46, of Sheffield, was accused and cited for harassment, following an altercation in which he shoved a known male, age 29, of Sheffield, up against his vehicle while scolding him for not answering his phone and not appearing for work. Police did not release the names of those involved.

Eldred Twp.

Theft. Warren-based state police reported that on December 29 between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m., Savannah J. Birchard, 21, Corry, allegedly stole approximately 15 Hydrocodon prescription pills from a purse belonging to her mother, Melanie T. Birchard, Grand Valley. A criminal complaint was prepared and filed with District Justice Cynthia Lindemuth.

Pine Grove Twp.

Crash. Warren-based state police responded to a two-vehicle accident on SR 62 at the intersection with Alcorn Lane on December 27 at 12:55 p.m. A 2006 Volvo FH tractor trailer driven by Gary M. Ginocchio, Williamsport, struck a 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe driven by Janine Hartzell, Russell. As Hartzell attempted to turn right onto Alcorn Lane, Ginocchio failed to slow down and struck Hartzell’s vehicle, causing the Hyundai to rotate clockwise, coming to rest on the northbound berm facing south. Ginocchio’s vehicle continued north on SR 62, crossed the southbound lane and struck the embankment, coming to final rest facing north. Ginocchio denied sustaining any injuries. Hartzell was treated was transported to Warren General Hospital for minor injuries. Both operators were wearing their seat belts. Ginocchio was charged with following too closely. The Volvo FH was towed from the scene by Koebley’s Towing. The Hyundai was towed from the scene by Rarey’s Towing. State police were assisted at the scene by Russell VFD and ambulance.
