Christian group meets Tuesday

The Jamestown-Warren Christian Women Village Missions Country Partners will meet at noon Tuesday at the Fluvanna Community Church, 3363 Fluvanna Ave., Jamestown. Guest speaker and music will be by Pastor Tori Jordan. Lunch is $7. Bring a brown bag gift item for exchange. The group is collecting synthetic socks in October and November for the Blue Star Mothers to send to military service personnel overseas.

Also the Nov. 10 meeting will include a Christmas craft fair where you may sell your homemade items with 25% of sales donated to Village Missions. We support Village Missions who train pastors to serve in rural communities or set up a church in the U.S. which may not have a church in its village, or minister a church with no pastor. Historical Society workshop set

JAMESTOWN -- The Busti Historical Society next hands-on workshop is Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Busti Historical Society meeting room, 3443 Lawson Road.

Free parking in the lot by the mill. The workshop is teaching the basics of the ancient Scandinavian art of Naalbinding, also commonly known as toothbrush rugs. Make a coaster, or a set of coasters using upcycled materials. Supplies are included. The cost is $25 per person, $20 for BHS Members. Ages 12 and over.
