Outdoor Club To Kayak Sunday Starting At Kinzua Dam

On Sunday, Oct. 11, members of the Allegheny Outdoor Club will kayak from the Kinzua Dam to the Eagles Club in Warren. The group will meet at the Eagles Club on Hemlock Road at 1 p.m. and put kayaks in on the Hemlock side of the Allegheny River. Mark Simpson is the leader for the activity.

Audubon To Host Camp For Children Ages 4-12 On Oct. 12

The Audubon Community Nature Center will host its October camp from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 12, when children have the day off of school. Children ages 4 to 12 can take part in a day of Audubon activities before the weather turns colder. Activities include learning about changing trees, autumn insects and migrating birds. Children need to dress for the weather and have extra clothing and gear for outside activities. Cost for the day is $48 for ages 4-12 or $36 for Nature Center member children. Additional siblings receive a $5 discount. Enrollment is limited. Paid reservations are required by Thursday, Oct. 8. Audubon Building Admission Is Free Oct. 12

Audubon Community Nature Center building admission is free on Monday, Oct. 12, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in celebration of Indigenous Peoples' DayIn addition to the indoor Nature Play Area, visitors can view interactive displays, a collection of live animals, the nearly 600-acre nature preserve with live birds of prey, the native tree arboretum, gardens, outdoor Nature Play Area and six miles of hiking trails.

Hospice receives August contributions

Hospice of Warren County received contributions during the month of August 2026 in memory of Sally Crouse, Jim Johnson, John Mangus, Angelina Mazzocchi and Arlene Mullen. Donations can be sent to Hospice of Warren County, 1 Main Ave., Warren, PA 16365 or online at www.hospiceofwarrencounty.org/donations. Donations support the comprehensive Hospice program, including the John and Orpha Blair Hospice Residence, and The Schorman Center– A Place for Healing Grief and Loss.
