St. Joseph’s Run Club competes at Behrend Youth Invitational

ERIE -- The St. Joseph's Catholic School Run Club continued its 2026 cross-country season Saturday, Sept. 19, competing in the Behrend Youth Invitational at Penn State Behrend.

Thirteen St. Joseph's runners traveled to Erie for the team's fourth race of the season and its largest competition to date. A total of 539 runners competed across the K-6 grade divisions.

Four St. Joseph's athletes had top-30 finishes in the girls 4-6 grade division. Caroline McGraw led the Crusaders, placing 10th with a time of 13:47.17. Reagan Caldwell also earned a medal with a 20th-place finish in 14:33.55. Scarlett Wymer finished 27th in 15:07.70, while Lottie Curtis placed 29th in 15:13.16.

Fourth Grader Gabe Curtis led the school in the 4-6 grade boys division and recorded the fastest time among all St. Joseph's runners, finishing in 13:45.33.

Also competing in the 4-6 grade races were Finnley Horan, who finished in 16:49.56, Ellason Curtis,16:57.41 and Shaylee McGraw, 17:01.86.

In the younger divisions. Reese Worgan represented St. Joseph's in the K-1 division, finishing in 3:41.78. Rose Anderson followed in 3:49.99, Marla Heinrich finished in 3:50.04 and Calvin Steber crossed the finish line in 4:06.17.

Mary Anderson competed in the 2-3 grades girls division, finishing with a time of 10:45.82.

The Behrend Youth Invitational provided another opportunity for the St. Joseph's runners to build on their season while emphasizing improvement, teamwork and sportsmanship.

The Crusaders will return to competition Sept. 25 at the Seton Catholic School Ben Mourer Memorial Invitational in Meadville.
