Community News: Cub Scout Pack 30: Youngsville Cub Scout Pack 30 invites girls and boys in Kindergarten to fifth grade to our sign-up night of Cub Scout family fun on Wednesday, Sept. 9 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Youngsville Free Methodist Church pavilion by the creek. Join us for campfire cooking, games, and various scouting activities. Meet our leaders, learn about the program and register your scout. Busy with sports, dance, music? That's OK! Cub Scouts is flexible and many of our Scouts participate in multiple activities while enjoying the adventures of Scouting. American Legion Riders, Post 658 "1,000 Miles for Veterans" fundraiser: On Saturday, Sept. 12, Two members of the American Legion Riders, Joe Perrin and Josh Cassatt, will be attempting a 1,000 mile motorcycle in less than 24 hours as a fundraiser for the American Legion Riders Post 658. The goal of this ride is to raise $5,000 to support the Riders and the work they do for veterans and the local community.
The ride will take them from the American Legion Post 658 in Youngsville south through West Virginia, Virginia, to Mount Airy, North Carolina, where they will turn around and head back the same route. Money raised through this fundraiser will go directly to the American Legion Riders. Joe and Josh are personally covering all of their own expenses during the trip. Local businesses and individuals have been invited to participate through either a flat donation or a pledged base on the number of miles completed, up to 1,000 miles. They will accept donations and pledges leading up to the ride.

-- Career Link and Infinity Resources Job Fair: On Thursday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Career Link and Infinity Resources will be holding a job fair at the Youngsville Library. Stop by and talk with representatives from both agencies about employment opportunities.
-- St. Francis Episcopal Church: 343 East Main St. Youngsville, Please join us each Wednesday evening at 7:30pm for a Taize Prayer service. -- Weekly Harvest Market at The Suites at the Rouse, 615 Rouse Ave. Youngsville. The official start date for the market was Thursday from 4 to 6;30 p.m., and runs every Thursday with the last date being Thursday, October 1st. It's an outdoor market (inside if inclement weather). Vendor cost is free, but registration is required. Contact Reyd – info@rouse.org for more information. They are also looking for talented musicians to help create a fun and festive atmosphere during the market for our community and visitors. -- Annual Book Sale: The annual "Library Book Sale" will be held on Saturday, Sept. 12, from 9am-3pm, at the Youngsville Public Library, 100 Broad Street, Youngsville. All genres of books will be available, along with DVD's and puzzles. Memorial Donations: Memorial book donations were made in honor of Lawrence Webb by Susan Kushner Kibbey.

Bingo starts at 6pm, and the kitchen opens at 5 p.m. Bar-Bingo is a formal term for this weekly fundraising event and is not intended to imply that bingo participants are required to sit at or near the bar area
