Outdoor Club To Hike Trail Near Bradford Sunday

On Sunday, May 10, members of the Allegheny Outdoor Club will hike the Marilla Bridges Trail (one mile) and a side trail in the area. The length of the hike can be determined by each person. The scenic trail goes around the reservoir with three bridges. Those attending should meet at Musante Street at 1:30 p.m. or Marilla Reservoir, 346 West Washington St.,, Bradford,. at 2:30 p.m. Linda Ross will be the leader for this activity.

Community Blood Bank to host blood drives

The Community Blood Bank will host several blood drives. The first will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, at the Sugar Grove Fire Department, 27 Wilson St., Sugar Grove. The blood bank’s Bloodmobile will be parked near Warren General Hospital near the Crescent Park Playground, 2 Crescent Park, Warren, from noon to 5 p.m. Thursday, May 7. The Lander Fire Department will host the Community Blood Bank Bloodmobile from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 14. The fire hall is located at 5555 PA-957 Russell. To donate, individuals must be at least 17 years old (or 16 with parental consent), weigh at least 110 pounds, and be in good health. Appointments can be scheduled by visiting www.fourhearts.org or by calling Edinger at 814-596-3395. Walk-ins are also welcome, but scheduling an appointment ensures a smoother process for donors. Blood donations take about 45 minutes.

Caregivers Support Group to meet Thursday

The Caregivers Support Group-Warren will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 7, at Grace United Methodist Church, 501 Pennsylvania Ave. East, Warren. Those attending should enter the building via the Pennsylvania Avenue entrance and proceed to the Winger Room. Meetings are a time of confidential discussion and sharing of concerns from caregivers. Discussion will include topics of interest or concern to those present. The lending library will be available as well as literature from the Alzheimer’s Association. All caregivers and those interested in learning about Alzheimer’s disease or other dementia-related disorders are welcome and encouraged to attend. The support group meeting is open to the public.
