Warren Philharmonic to host ‘Let’s Dance’ concert

Bryan Eckenrode

The Warren Philharmonic, under the direction of musical director and conductor Bryan Eckenrode, will present an upcoming concert titled “Let’s Dance” at 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 23, at First Lutheran Church, 109 W. Third Ave., Warren.

The performance will feature an exploration of symphonic dance-themed pieces, offering audiences an engaging musical experience. Notable works to be performed include “Dance of the Hours” by Ponchielli, “Dance Bacchanale” from Samson and Dalila by Saint-Saëns, and “Hungarian Dances 5 and 6” by Brahms. The Joyful Sounds Handbell choir will join the orchestra to help ring in the holiday season, performing “Go Tell It-Medley” alongside the orchestra.

Directed by Denise Pearson, the Joyful Sounds Handbell choir began 40 years ago at First Lutheran Church. The ensemble features 13 ringers performing more than sixty bells across five octaves. Some members have nearly four decades of experience, while others are new to handbell ringing. The choir rehearses weekly and shares their music with the congregation monthly.

Tickets for the concert will be available at the door starting at 3:15 p.m. on the day of the event. Admission prices are $10 for adults, $5 for students and seniors, and children 11 and under may attend for free. For those unable to attend in person, the performance will be streamed live on YouTube. Audiences can view the concert on the Warren Philharmonic YouTube channel or access the stream link through the Warren Philharmonic of Warren PA Facebook page.
