Church to serve

community breakfast Nov. 1

CHANDLERS VALLEY – Hessel Valley Lutheran Church will serve a free community breakfast from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 1. Breakfast will include sausage gravy over biscuits, fruit and refreshments and will be dine-in only. The church is located at 166 Hessel Valley Road, Chandlers Valley.

Berea Lutheran to host

trunk or treat Saturday

PITTSFIELD – Berea Lutheran Church, 51 PA 958, Pittsfield, at the junction of Route 6 and Route 958, will host a trunk or treat from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25. The family friendly event is open to everyone. Costumes are optional. In addition to candy, there will be a craft, free hot dogs, chips and drinks.

Bridge league announces winners

Monday evening at the YMCA, Chick Bello and Bill Kuppinger came in first with Shelley Dahlie and Pat Fincher in second. Jo Simonsen placed first on Tuesday at the Woman’s Club and Sherry Griffiths was second. At the Woman’s Club on Thursday, Marge Neel and Rita Mancuso were first and second. Sign up for the annual bridge marathon in January is open. Those interested should contact Connie Michell.

Sheffield center to host dinner Nov. 7

SHEFFIELD – The Sheffield Area Hospitality Center will be holding a chicken and biscuit dinner from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7. The meal includes chicken and gravy, biscuit, mashed potatoes, green beans and choice of dessert. The cost is $10 a meal and $5 for those 10 and under. The fundraiser will benefit the Sheffield Senior Center.
