Coffee, conversation with police
scheduled for Wednesday
Wednesday, Oct. 1, coffee and conversation with your neighbors and police will be held from 8 to 10 a.m. at the Bean Bank Enterprise Inc, 117 E. Main St. Youngsville.
The mission of the Coffee with a Cop is to break down the barriers between police officers and the citizens they serve by removing agendas and allowing opportunities to ask questions, voice concerns, and get to know the officers in your neighborhood.
The Youngsville Borough is also looking for borough residents to join the Zoning Board and the Recreation Commission. Any interested residents should stop by the borough office for more information.

The New Life Church, 18 Second St. Youngsville, will begin holding its family dinner and movie nights on Friday, Oct. 3. A tureen dinner takes place at 4:30 p.m. and the movie, “Mrs. Harris Goes To Parks” will be shown at 5:15 p.m. “Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris” is the story of a widowed cleaning lady in 1950s London who falls madly in love with a couture Dior dress, and decides that she must have one of her own. Bring something to share for dinner. The church will supply the popcorn and drinks.
Saint Luke’s Catholic Church, 420 North Main St., Youngsville, will hold its rummage and bake sale Thursday through Saturday. Sponsored by the Altar/Rosary Society, the sale takes place on Thursday, Oct. 2, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Friday, Oct. 3, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 4, from 9 a.m. to noon with a $1 bag sale.
The Youngsville Cemetery Association is asking all lot owners to remove all old plants, artificial flowers and decorations by Oct. 15 in order to complete fall clean-up. Winter wreaths can be placed beginning Nov. 1.
Every Thursday, is “Bar-Bingo” at the Youngsville American Legion (10 North Main St.). Bingo starts at 6pm, and the kitchen opens at 5 p.m.. Bar-Bingo is a formal term for this weekly fundraising event and is not intended to imply that bingo participants are required to sit at or near the bar area.

Don’t forget to stop by and check out the new solar bench out front with phone charging! Instructions on how to access the wifi are visibly displayed.
As a reminder of the library services: Public wifi access 24/7; high speed internet; power library reference and computer applications; computer printing, copier, scanner and faxing available with a fee; Book Club meets the second Tuesday of the month from 3 to 4 p.m.; Preschool story time is the second Tuesday of the month from 10:3 to 11 a.m.; WIFI Wednesday is the third Wednesday of the month from 4 to 5 p.m. Stop by for free help with electronic devices including iPhone, Androids and tablets. No appointment is needed.
On Thursday, Oct. 16, at 11 a.m., a representative from the Penn State Master Gardeners will be at the library to educate the public on spotted lantern fly. While geared more towards kids/youth, the public is welcome to attend.
On Saturday, Nov., 1, at 11 a.m, the library will be hosting a presentation by author Dennis Viglo of “Strange Kinzua”, where he will be sharing photos and stories of the strange happenings in the Kinzua area.
A memorial donation was made in honor of Joyce O’Conner by the Youngsville Ladies.
